“ Get out of our village before I summon the fireflies. „
Blue Lily Cookie (Korean: 난초맛 쿠키, nancho-mat kuki, "Orchid [Flavored] Cookie") is an Epic Cookie released alongside her Pet, Petal Mantis, in the first half of The Long Journey for Life update.
Originally introduced as an NPC during the Curse of the Sacred Forest update, Blue Lily Cookie is one of the Grass Village guardians, tasked with keeping intruders away and protecting the village from harm. With her calm yet bold demeanor, she seemingly exudes the strength her role demands. However, beneath this exterior lies a more sentimental side, only shown when she is talking to her partner, Lilybell Cookie.

Character Inspiration
Blue Lily Cookie and Lilybell Cookie are inextricably bound together in that they both are based on the Confucian idiom "지란지교" (or "芝蘭之交" in traditional Chinese/Hanja) as written in the Mingxin baojian (明心寶鑑).[2] While this phrase on its own cannot be directly translated into English, it stakes a healthy, pure friendship as being "fragrant like gromwells and orchids". Confucius says that spending time with a good person is comparable to walking into a room of fragrant flowers like gromwells and orchids, while being with a bad person is like walking into a room of pickled fish; over time, one becomes accustomed to the scent of either, being, in a way, transformed by the smell. Thus, a good scent, or a good person, will change a person for the better while a bad smell, or bad person, will do the opposite.[3][4]
This relates to Blue Lily Cookie and Lilybell Cookie's close, healthy relationship along with their original Korean names, Orchid Cookie (난초맛 쿠키, nancho-mat kuki) and Gromwell Cookie (지초맛 쿠키, jicho-mat kuki) respectively. Furthermore, CM Mic Mac has stated that Blue Lily Cookie's name in the English localization process was changed from Orchid Cookie into the more literal translation of Blue Lily Cookie specifically to tie her further to Lilybell Cookie in English, a language in which the two's Confucian origins would be altogether lost in translation.[5]

Trivia
- Blue Lily Cookie was incorrectly dubbed "Orchid Cookie" during the update preview for the Curse of the Sacred Forest update.
- This naming, however, stays true in the Korean version of Cookie Run: OvenBreak.
- According to CM MicMac, the reason for why Blue Lily Cookie wasn't named "Orchid Cookie" in the English version was due to the team wanting the names of Blue Lily Cookie and Lilybell Cookie to match each other more closely.[5]
- Blue Lily Cookie won 1st place in the Cookie of the Year 2022 voting event, and as such has received a Valentines Costume to celebrate, being Sweet Heartmender.
- This also makes her the first and currently only Epic Cookie achieve this feat, as all the other 1st place winners were Legendary Cookies, being Timekeeper Cookie in 2020 and Pitaya Dragon Cookie in 2019.
- However, if counting the Best of 2018 Awards (where the voting and results were online and not held in-game), She would be the second Epic Cookie, as DJ Cookie has won 1st place during that time.
- This also makes her the first and currently only Epic Cookie achieve this feat, as all the other 1st place winners were Legendary Cookies, being Timekeeper Cookie in 2020 and Pitaya Dragon Cookie in 2019.
- Blue Lily Cookie is the first Cookie to receive a second MAX Lvl. Pass, receiving a new one in the second part of The Longing of the Rising Flames update.

To give you some insights into why the name changed, Orchid is the literal translation from the original Korean (난초) but the team wanted for the names to be matching. In Korean, Lilybell Cookie is 지초 while Blue Lily Cookie is 난초, using the same "초" character, on purpose. The English translation wanted to represent this as well. That's why the name was changed from Orchid Cookie to Blue Lily Cookie."
