“ A special event where you and your Buddy run together! „
The Buddy Event is an event in Cookie Run: OvenBreak, released during the Lights, Camera, Action! update. It temporarily replaced the Invite a Friend event. Normal players can send an invitation code to new or returning players, and receive compensation when they play Trophy Race. New players are defined as those who started playing during the event period, and returning players are defined as those who have not played Cookie Run: OvenBreak for 30 days or more before their latest log-in. Unlike the Invite a Friend event, New and Returning players can send invite codes as well; normal players can only invite New and Returning players, while New and Returning players can invite anyone.
This event has several components to it. The main objective is to collect Buddy Points via several potential methods, and to use those Buddy Points on the Chest Draw to unlock various rewards, including certain .
Pair Up[]
When the event is first opened, all that is seen is a "Pair Up!" menu. Here, the player can enter invite codes, so that other people can play the event with them. Once another player is invited, all other tabs open up, and a chat feature between you and your friend opens up. Notably, when the chat button first appears, there is a contract needing to be signed to ensure the player follows the Terms of Service for the game.
If a player wants to, they can unpair from this tab, but doing so brings a penalty for both players. The one who presses "Unpair" gets 15 days penalty from inviting another player, while the other player gets less of a penalty.
Other than chatting and unpairing, there is nothing else to do in this tab other than watch a floating, purple heart in the middle of the screen.
Check-in Rewards[]
Whenever the player and their invited friend log into the game, both players get a Check-in reward, up to a total of 60 rewards. Each log-in provides 100 Buddy Points; when the total log-in points obtained is a multiple of 4, 300 Buddy Points are given instead.
Friendship Missions[]
These are a set of 3 missions, each with one hard form and one normal form. Completing one of the missions rewards 30 Buddy Points; however, each player can only complete one half of each mission set. When both players complete a half of a mission set, 200 extra Buddy Points are awarded. The three sets of missions reset each day.

Friendly Run Buddies[]

When the event is initiated, a special event known as "Friendly Run Buddies" appears, heavily based on the 7th Anniversary's version of Friendly Run. Here, only three rides are available, and each has a fixed combi:
- [Land 1] Banana Boat Viking -
Muscle Cookie and 
Adventurer Cookie can be played as. The former throws kettle bells, while the latter spawns chests at certain intervals. - [Land 2] Watermelon Balloon - Chestnut Cookie and Pudding Cookie can be played as. They both ride a bike at certain intervals; the former controls speed, while the latter controls height.
- [Land 3] White Shell Chocolate Rocking Horse - Apple Cookie and Pancake Cookie can be played as. The former blows bubbles for the latter to pop.
Each Land has its own unique set of missions to complete for Gold Gems, all based around collecting certain Jellies. Additionally, when a rank for each land is achieved, Buddy Points are awarded in the following manner:

The Buddy Points are used to open Invite Chests from the previous Invite a Friend event. Up to 10 Invite Chests can be opened at once, and one chest costs 300 Buddy Points to open. Additionally, a package exists on this tab, allowing 3,000 Buddy Points to be bought for $4.99. Through these chests, the following rewards can be obtained, each with equal probabilities;
