Cookie Run Wiki

Cookie Run: Puzzle World, titled CookieRun Jelly Pop during the soft launch, CookiePuzzle during early development, and Hello! Brave Cookies during the first season of the game, is a free-to-play Match 3 puzzle game released by Devsisters. It was given a soft launch in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and Indonesia in May of 2019, under the name of CookieRun Jelly Pop.

In November of 2019, it was announced to be released in further territories under a rebrand known as Hello! Brave Cookies. On November 25th, 2019, the game was updated to the new name and was released in Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Though announced to be globally released on January 16th, 2020, the game was unintentionally released to iOS players on January 11th, 2020, but was quickly removed. The game was fully and properly released on January 16th, 2020 worldwide.

On July 26th, 2020, the game was announced[1] to be receiving another rebrand, this time to the name Cookie Run: Puzzle World, with the statement that this would be the final renaming of it. This change was made along with the release of the second season within the game.

As of White Choco Cookie's release, the game has received no new content updates. However, it is still fully functional.

Cookies[]

For a list of all playable Cookies, see List of Cookies (Puzzle World).

Cookies are the main playable characters, each with unique theming and skills. While playing regular levels, your chosen Cookie will be present in the bottom left of the screen. Upon collecting enough Jellies to fill their skill meter, a Cookie Booster will appear on the board, with an ability correlating to the Cookie. Cookies can also be powered up with Star Jellies and Snacks, increasing the effectiveness of their skills. There are five grades each Cookie can be, which are akin to the rarities in Cookie Run: OvenBreak.

C-Grade C-Grade Cookies are found in the beginning episodes. They have very weak skills, and their power level caps at 5. There are 9 C-Grade Cookies in the game; one of them is unlocked in a Special Episode, one of them is unlocked through the Invite a Friend! event, and one of them is unlocked through the New Season's Challenge event.

B-Grade B-Grade Cookies are found in the early episodes. They have somewhat stronger skills, and their power level caps at 7. There are 7 B-Grade Cookies in the game; one of them is unlocked in a Special Episode.

A-Grade A-Grade Cookies are found in most of the episodes. They have strong skills, and their power level caps at 9. There are 22 A-Grade Cookies in the game; one of them is unlocked in a Special Episode, and two of them made their playable debut in this game: Artichoke Cookie and Piñata Cookie.

S-Grade S-Grade Cookies are found in the latest episodes. They have incredibly strong skills, and their power level caps at 9. There are 4 S-Grade Cookies in the game; one of them is unlocked in Battle Mode.

L-Grade L-Grade Cookies can only be unlocked in Champions League. Uniquely, their skills are automatically used when the skill meter is full, instead of creating a Cookie Booster that must then be used. Their power level caps at 11, and there are 3 L-Grade Cookies in the game.

Pets[]

For a list of all playable Pets, see List of Pets (Puzzle World).

Cookies can be accompanied by a Pet, which provide minor support abilities. All Cookies (barring L-Grades) have a special Combi Pet, which provides a bonus when the Cookie and Pet are used together. Pets come in the same grades as Cookies, but most of them are obtained in the same method: through the Pet Draw.

Gameplay[]

An example of a typical level

Despite still being in the name, Cookie Run: Puzzle World trades out the familiar running gameplay for more traditional Match 3 puzzle gameplay, where the player must slide and match Jellies in a similar fashion to other games of the genre. Each level has a goal to reach, revolving around a gimmick that is usually more complex than matching Jellies.

To add challenge, each level also has a set amount of moves the player can make. If the player runs out of moves before completing a level's goal, they must either spend Crystals to continue, or lose a life. Lives are required to attempt levels, and they regenerate over time, capping at 5. They can also be earned more easily by asking for them from friends or teammates.

Game Modes[]

Episodes[]

The main mode of play are the Cookies' Episodes, each being a series of levels with stars to earn for achieving high scores. Earning stars rewards you with Coins. If you missed any stars, you can retry the levels from the map screen. Each episode features a Cookie, which can be purchased with Coins upon reaching the episode. There are currently 37 episodes in the game.

There are also Special Episodes which can be played after clearing certain levels in the main episodes. These episodes feature a specific Cookie which can only be unlocked by clearing all 5 levels in a row. If you fail a level, you must start from the beginning, though you can keep trying afterwards as long as you have lives. There are currently 3 Special Episodes in the game.

Champions League[]

The Champions League is unlocked after clearing level 300 of the main episodes. Every week, players must complete randomly-selected levels to earn Trophies and Medals. When the round is over, players will receive rewards depending on the grade they are in. The players with the most Trophies will move up a grade, and the players with the least will move down a grade. The Medals you receive are used to unlock various rewards, the most valuable being L-Grade Cookies.

Cookie Quests[]

Most of the main episodes feature a Cookie Quest, a small series of levels which can only be played with the episode's featured Cookie. By earning a high score in these, you can earn more Star Jellies and Snacks, as well as a unique Cookie Wonder to display on the map.

Battle Mode[]

Added to the game on December 16th, 2020, Battle Mode plays differently to the regular levels. Instead of one Cookie, a team of three Cookies must be selected before playing. The gameplay of Battle Mode revolves around defeating monsters in turn-based combat, dealing damage to them by making matches. Instead of running out of moves, the game ends when your Cookies run out of health after taking too many attacks from their enemies.

The earliest instance of the game's development becoming public knowledge was Devsisters' 2017 planning. Cookie Run: Puzzle World was announced and slated for a Q4 2017 release.

The game was first seen during Devsisters' 2019 planning under the name of CookiePuzzle in April of that year along with a trailer of the game. A few weeks later, the app was retitled Cookie Run: Jelly Pop and was given a change in art style.

In May of 2019, Devsisters made a soft launch of Cookie Run: Jelly Pop in 5 countries.

In November of 2019, Devsisters rebranded the game as Hello! Brave Cookies and set to release it in further countries.

In January of 2020, Cookie Run: Puzzle World was released globally.

On July 26th, 2020, the game was slated to receive another rebrand[1] to Cookie Run: Puzzle World.

On March 2nd, 2021, White Choco Cookie and her episode were added to the game. It is currently the latest update to the game, and it is unlikely another update is planned, as the official Twitter account has not posted since February of 2021, and the game does not appear on the official Devsisters website.

In some time during early 2023, an in-game notice was posted regarding error in Facebook logins.

To promote the release of Cookie Run: Witch's Castle, an in-game notice was posted to advertise the new puzzle game.
