Gameplay[]
- See Glossary for detailed explanations of these terms.
Two players take turns to strategically use their deck of cards to attack each other's active Cookie cards. To win the game, players need to reach a total level of 10+ in the opponent's break area, or if the opponent has no Cookie cards left.
Building the Deck[]
Each player builds a deck of 60 cards using a combination of various cards. Each deck should contain at least one Cookie card, and can only allow up to 4 copies of a card, and up to 16 FLIP cards.
Players could purchase booster packs to combine the cards in their existing decks, or purchase pre-made decks containing the required cards.
Gameplay Setup[]
Players shuffle their decks and place it on their Deck Area. The starting player is decided by a game of rock-paper-scissors. The player who goes first isn't allowed to draw cards or attack on their first turn. Both players draw 6 cards from their deck that goes on their hand, then place a Cookie card from their hand on the Battle Area with its face down.
Players reveal their placed Cookie cards to each other and place the HP cards from deck underneath them. When taking cards, the card that is on top of the deck goes to the bottom of the HP cards.
Mulligan[]
If a player does not have any Cookie cards in their hand during the game setup, after their opponent sets aside their HP cards, they must take a mulligan. The mulligan is performed by revealing their hand, returning it back to deck, reshuffle, then draw 6 cards again. The opponent can draw one card from the deck. Repeat the process until both players have a Cookie card in hand. If both players had to take mulligans, the starting player gets to do it first.
Turn Phases[]
- Active Phase: All cards in Rest mode (placed sideways) should be turned to Active mode (placed upright).
- Draw Phase: At start of each player's turn, draw 2 cards from the deck to hand. The starting player cannot draw cards.
- If the deck is empty, the player performs a refresh by taking a Cookie card of Lv. 1 or higher from the Trash and place it in the Battle Area. Then shuffle the Trash cards and place it in the deck.
- Any effect or damage taken during this time will take effect after the refresh.
- Support Phase: The player may place one card from their hand in the Support Area.
- Main Phase: Play cards from hand, trigger effects, or battle in this phase. There's no limit or set order on these actions.
- To use certain actions, cover the cost by turning the required color cards in the Support Area to Rest mode.
- Card Play: Players can place a Cookie card in the Battle Area with its HP cards underneath. Upto two Cookie cards can be placed in the Battle Area, but only one can be present during the first turn.
- Players could place a Stage card in the Stage Area by paying its cost, using its effects anytime. To use a different Stage, the old Stage card must be placed to Trash.
- Use an Item or Trap card by paying its cost. Trap cards can be used when the opponent attacks during their Main Phase.
- Activate card effects: Using Cookie skills or Stage effects require a cost.
- Using the Stage's effect puts the card to Rest mode.
- Battle: To attack, cover the cost and put the Cookie card to rest.
- When a Cookie receives damage, flip HP cards equal to damage received from top to bottom, then place it in Trash.
- If the HP card has a FLIP effect, the player may use it. FLIP effects must be used while receiving damage, and trigger one by one.
- A Cookie faints when it has no HP left. The Cookie card is moved to the Break Area.
- If there's no Cookie left in the Battle Area, a new Cookie card from hand must be placed, regardless of the player's turn.
- End Phase: Any activated effects should be settled by this phase, after which you can end the turn.
Finishing the match[]
To finish a match, players must either make the opponent reach a total level of 10 or more in their Break Area, or if the opponent has no Cookies left in their Battle Area and there's no Cookie card on their hand. The player that does so wins the game.
Story[]
While the lore isn't as established, early teasers, artwork and the interview article[1] imply the overall premise of Cookie Run Braverse to revolve around the multiverse. A rift in space and time have caused the dimensions to merge, causing Cookies from different universes to meet each other. It is said to have 5 distinct planets in the world of Braverse.
Characters[]
Due to the collectible nature of cards, these cards feature characters from almost every currently active Cookie Run game. This includes characters from OvenBreak, Kingdom, Witch's Castle and Tower of Adventures. There are a very few characters that are exclusive to Braverse:
- 레몬타임맛 쿠키 (Lemon Thyme Cookie) - Hailing from a village of blind healers located in Pilgrim's Valley, Lemon Thyme Cookie was an exception as they were born able-sighted. Yet, this Cookie have blindfolded themselves to pretend to be blind. They possess the ability to form a flower bud-shaped magical shield.
- 레몬골댕이 (Lemon Golden Retriever) - A dog that became the eyes for Lemon Thyme Cookie. Ever since his blind friend almost hurt themselves as he was still a freshly baked dessert, Lemon Golden Retriever has since open his eyes wide to the unseen dangers of the world. He possess the ability to sense evil by licking.
