The Curious Rainbow Mine is a recurring event in Cookie Run: OvenBreak. This event is split into two areas, the Rainbow Cube Depot and the Rainbow Cube Mine. The Depot is full of many Rainbow Cubes to collect, and all players can run in it. The Mine can only be entered by players who earned a Puzzle Key from the previous Grand Champions League, and they can collect Rainbow Gems here to level up the Depot and increase the amount of cubes everyone can earn. The Curious Rainbow Mine was introduced on May 7, 2019, and has reappeared after every Grand Champions League.

The Rainbow Cube Depot, also called the Rainbow Depot, is the area available to everyone. This is a short, simple course with no Jellies or Coins to collect and no pits or obstacles to avoid. Energy is not a factor and no score is recorded, the only goal is to collect the Rainbow Cubes on the path. Big Rainbow Cubes exclusively appear here, each worth ten Rainbow Cubes. This stage must be played with a fixed Combi, using the Cookie that the previous Champions League Big Season was themed after, accompanied by their Pet. Angel Cookie's passive Magnetic Aura was permitted, but all other bonuses, including Magic Candy, Cookie and Pet levels, Affection, Escape Level, and Treasures have no effect. The Depot starts with a small number of Rainbow Cubes, but as Key holding players collect Rainbow Gems, the Rainbow Depot will level up and let everyone collect more Rainbow Cubes, up to 225 per run at the maximum level 5. All players can run in the Depot once daily. When the depot is upgraded after a player has already run that day, they can run again.

The Rainbow Cube Mine, also called the Rainbow Mine, is the special area available only to players with a Puzzle Key. The contrast between the Depot and Mine could not be greater, as it is a very long and difficult area. Here, the objective is to collect Rainbow Gems to help level up the Depot. There are 70 Rainbow Gems in the Rainbow Mine at fixed locations. These are spread out throughout five floors, starting from B1. The highest amount of Gems collected in a single run is the amount contributed.
A Puzzle Key is needed to enter the Rainbow Cube Mine. It is earned from advancing far enough in the Grand Champions League. In the first Grand Champions League, champions had to reach round four to obtain one. In all later Grand Champions Leagues, champions only need to reach round two. All players who earned a Puzzle Key in the previous Grand Champions League have unlimited access to the Rainbow Cube Mine during the event.
The first three floors each have three stages followed by a random stage with no Rainbow Gems. Floor four has four stages before its random stage, and floor five has five fixed stages followed by the Bottomless Mine. Each normal stage begins with Pink Bear Jellies arranged into numbers corresponding to the floor and stage. Random stages start with Pink Bear Jellies arranged to spell out "Random" and a number made of Yellow Bear Jellies. Each normal stage ends with some small arrows made of silver Coins, and random stages before the Bottomless Mine end with Pink Bear Jellies spelling out "Go Go Go" above Giant Star Jellies. The Bottomless Mine has incredibly hard random stages. These start with Pink Bear Jellies writing out "Hard Random", and each one ends with a Rainbow Gem in an easy to grab place, until all 70 have appeared.
Key holders can complete missions in the Rainbow Cube Mine when the depot is leveled up and for collecting the required Rainbow Gems. Due to the difficulty, there are only missions up to 55 Rainbow Gems. When the event ends, key holders are also rewarded Crystals and Spirit Potions based on their Contribution Rank. This rank is based on Rainbow Gems collected in a single run. Score is only used to break ties when multiple key holders collect the same amount of Gems.
Stages[]
Floor B-1
Stage 1-1
Compared to other stages, this one is extremely easy. There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect, and no holes to avoid. Two normal jumps and three double jumps must be performed to collect the Rainbow Gems.
Stage 1-2
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. In this stage, there are rows of pathways to choose from, with the one containing Yellow Bear Jellies leading to a Rainbow Gem. Jumping too soon in front of a hole will cause the player to either collide into obstacles, or land on the wrong path, especially for the second Rainbow Gem.
Stage 1-3
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage has asteroid obstacles flying to the player, where double jumps must be performed to collect the Rainbow Gems. One of them lies right behind a wall of asteroid obstacles.
Floor B-2
Stage 2-1
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage has a large hole in it with thin platforms above, and involves jumping right under a platform to collect two of the Rainbow Gems; the stage is also dark. A segment with Giant Yellow Bear Jellies appears, with wall obstacles above it.
Stage 2-2
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage features obstacles falling from the sky, but is designed in a way that leaves little room not to jump. a fake-out occurs at the first Rainbow Gem, where two single jumps in succession are needed to collect it.
Stage 2-3
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage is very dense with obstacles, and requires sliding immediately after double-jumping to avoid getting hit. Near the end, the platforms must be climbed to obtain the final Rainbow Gem.
Floor B-3
Stage 3-1
In this stage, the background changes color to be purple, and the colorless shards in the background light up. There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage is a big hole with sinking platforms throughout it, each the width of a Big Silver Coin (which each platform contains). The Rainbow Gems can be found underneath the platforms, so jumping must be precise.
Stage 3-2
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. There are a few staircases to climb, which lead to a wall of ziplines that need to be climbed in order to position the Cookie out of the way of obstacles. A number of Giant Star Jellies mark where the player should be, and where the Rainbow Gems are.
Stage 3-3
There are 6 Rainbow Gems to collect. The first half of this stage involves levels; green ones that must be flipped, and red ones that must be avoided. Mid-way through the stage, three Rainbow Gems are revealed; if the player misses any green switches, or hits any red ones, these are replaced by Bitter Bear Jellies spelling out "FAIL". The second half of this stage involves long stretches of sinking platforms, with obstacles hidden off-screen that appear as the platforms sink. The last three Rainbow Gems are hidden among the obstacles.
Floor B-4
Stage 4-1
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage starts out with simple double jumps, and then uses the same Giant Yellow Bear Jelly segment as Stage 2-1; this time, however, there is a Rainbow Gem at the end of it. The last part of the stage involves thin platforms and flying obstacles, located right above the holes.
Stage 4-2
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage involves fast-sinking platforms with obstacles on it, similar to Stage 3-3. The Rainbow Gems are hidden further off-screen.
Stage 4-3
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage is deceptively easier than it looks; there are a lot of obstacles, but they can all be avoided by single- or double-jumping in succession. The Rainbow Gems require careful jumping to collect.
Stage 4-4
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. The first half of this stage involves many arcing asteroid obstacles, and a segment of Bear Jellies with Magnet Jellies to collect them. Once this half is done, a segment with "REST" spelled out twice in Pink Bear Jellies appears, including the second Rainbow Gem. The second half of this stage involves double-jumping over tall obstacles.
Floor B-5
Stage 5-1
From this stage onwards, the crystals on the ceiling glow white with a rainbow accent, and the background becomes star-patterned. There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage involves walls of obstacles that must be double jumped over in quick succession, and a few Coin Magic Jellies to collect. One Rainbow Gem is found within a wall of obstacles. Due to the gaps in this stage, the Carrot Pudding Trampoline is recommended.
Stage 5-2
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage involves consecutive single jumps across obstacle-crowded platforms, and involves a specific asteroid obstacle that periodically hovers over the player; the purpose of this is to block off double-jumps for some time. There is a "rest" segment after the first two Rainbow Gems, followed by a segment with obstacles on the ceiling. This second segment involves one Rainbow Gem, and features small platforms over a large hole.
Stage 5-3
There are 2 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage takes place in darkness, and is entirely filled with a hole; small platforms rise and sink in the hole to jump across.
Stage 5-4
There are 3 Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage involves obstacles placed above small platforms, and a lot of holes; precise jumping is needed to avoid getting hit. In the second half, the obstacles block off segments of platforms, with Giant Yellow Bear Jellies between them to double jump and collect (alongside the final Rainbow Gem).
Stage 5-5
There are ? Rainbow Gems to collect. This stage features quickly-rising platforms among fields of obstacles, and requires consecutive single jumps (with quick sliding in-between).
Random Stages
Random-1
This stage features a high quantity of small holes. Asteroid obstacles travel in arcs over these holes, and some obstacles fall from the sky at specific points. There are a lot of segments involving jumping right before sliding.
Random-2

Random-3

Random-5

Random-6
This stage does not start with a Giant Jelly. It involves a few rising platforms and many compact obstacles, involving a few points of pixel-perfect jumping. Mid-way is a Coin Magic Jelly, requiring a precise double-jump; following that, obstacles fall down from above, and the stage ends with a blast along a Coin trail.
Random-7
This stage involves a lot of moving obstacles, that periodically bounce up and down. There are shifting platforms and obstacles that seem to be ceiling obstacles, but then fall down and require double-jumping over.
Random-8
This stage features thin walls of obstacles in quick succession. Single or double jumps must be performed and then immediately slid under, as the obstacles are very close together. Destructive Treasures are reccomended for this stage.
Random-9
This stage features thin platforms to jump across. Obstacles emerge from the holes, and "jab" upwards after rising up to try and stab the player.
This event was negatively received by many players, particularly when it was first introduced. Players who did not earn a Puzzle Key criticized the Rainbow Mine being available to a small percentage of players and the Grand Champions League prerequisite, while players who earned a Puzzle Key criticized the tedium involved in running in the Curious Rainbow Mine as well as the value of rewards in relation to the difficulty.
After the second Grand Champions League, a bug caused the Puzzle Key to be visible in the inventory of many players who did not receive it, and not visible to some who were meant to have it. This was not fixed in time for the Curious Rainbow Mine re-opening, though the bug was limited to the inventory and did not effect who could enter.
