Desert Highwaymantis is a Raid Run Boss that was released in the first half of the Project Cookie Runway update.

Story

"Once upon a time, the Desert Highwaymantis used to be a guide for other mantids in the desert. However, now that the last of the desert mantids have been hunted down, it walks the endless sand dunes alone."

"This monster wields a custom-made gun in each hand. From a distance it looks like they are part of its body... maybe they actually are?"

"This monster is able to fire any kind of bullets it wants at will. Its favorite is the giant missile-like bullet that few can dodge. Maybe a flat body pressed close to the ground would have a greater chance of avoiding it...?"

"According to old documents in a certain desert village, a large mantis once applied to the position of sheriff. On the bottom of the final page is a large 'X' stamp, followed by the text "Reason for rejection: horrific visage."

"Due to the sandstorms caused by the vibrations of its wings, the monster's location is easy to track at any moment."

"Unlike other outlaws, the Desert Highwaymantis has no interest in Coins or Crystals. Touch its bullets however, and the monster will show no mercy. That's the rules of the desert, after all."
