The Editing Guidelines contains guides to structuring articles and some overall rules which should be followed by editors to ensure consistency.

For more basic information on how to edit a Fandom Wiki, please see Help:Editing.

For rules regarding the Forum, please see Forum Guidelines.

General[]

  • This is an English wiki—all pages added should be written in English. Adding bits of Korean text for things like Cookie names, Pet names, etc. is allowed.
  • Information on this wiki should be fact-based; please refrain from adding personal opinions. Headcanons and other personal beliefs on characters can be posted in the characters' page comments sections or in the wiki forum.
  • Please try to always add a description note to new edits. Being brief with this is okay.
  • Edits should always expand and improve the wiki. Please do not remove information from pages unless it is factually wrong.
  • Edits will always be reviewed. If an edit proves to be malicious, it will be reversed.
  • Additions should be consistent across all pages in a category. If this proves too much work, please contact the respective moderator or administrator for assistance.
  • Comments containing swears or personal attacks of any kind will be edited to conformity or entirely removed. Please be kind to your fellow wiki users and contributors!

Adding Missing Information[]

Currently, there are many pages with bits of information missing. This comes in the form of labels like TBA's as well as ?'s and x's. This information can generally be obtained in the game itself depending on if you have certain Cookies, Treasures, Toppings, items, building upgrades, and so on.

  • Please assure all information added is factual and taken directly from the game or from official outside sources (such as social media).
  • When adding stats information, make sure the numbers you have are not affected by levelling or upgrades.
  • Quotes should be added as-is. This means that any text that explicitly includes spelling or grammar errors should be added with these errors intact. Such errors should be marked with "(sic)" (written as (sic) in source code.) or "{{sic}}", which adds a tooltip to the marked text.
  • When adding or modifying information relating to a character's gender, please refrain from using gendered language (male/female/other, man/woman/other, etc); as Cookie Run characters do not have explicitly stated genders, the wiki categorizes them by their pronouns rather than applying genders to them.
    • Please note that many characters canonically use pronouns other than he/him and she/her, such as they/them and it/its. Do not apply more masculine or feminine language to these characters in their wiki articles, as it will be removed. Usage of incorrect pronouns outside of wiki articles (such as on the forum) will lead to the user being casually notified and corrected on the character's correct pronouns.
      • When writing in an article about a character that has no known pronouns, please refer to said character by they/them.
    • Do not highlight the gender non-conformity of applicable characters (such as Aloe Cookie Aloe Cookie, Millennial Tree Cookie Millennial Tree Cookie, Captain Ice Cookie Captain Ice Cookie and so on) as points of interest or trivia. There is no need to treat such characters and their traits as unusual, and any attempts to do so will be swiftly removed and may lead to penalties against the user.
    • Trivia and other informative segments should begin with the subject's name instead of the appropriate pronoun (i.e. "Pizza Cookie Pizza Cookie's delivery bike..." instead of "Her delivery bike...")

Adding Pages[]

When creating a new page, it is important to follow the structure of existing similar pages should that be possible.

  • Make sure the page is as complete as possible in one go.
  • Do not create blank pages or pages with very little content (such as less than a sentence's worth of text).
  • Pages for new Cookies will be created upon release. Refrain from making pages for these Cookies before they are officially added to the game.
  • If you have information for a new page but lack to skill or confidence in coding the page, message an Administrator for assistance.
  • Please use existing pages and their templates as frameworks of reference when creating new pages.

Locked Pages[]

Some pages within the wiki are locked, primary reasons for such are as follows.

  • The page is high traffic, and the page has been permanently locked to prevent excessive vandalism.
  • The page is a staff or information related page, and the page has been permanently locked accordingly.
  • The page is for an upcoming character, and the page is temporarily locked as to prevent leaked content from being uploaded.
  • The page is a recent target for excessive vandalism, and the page is temporarily locked as to prevent further vandalism until the perpetrators die down.
  • The page is of a character/location/costume that includes offensive content outside of the wiki's control, such as pages pertaining to Cookies from Yogurca, and their pages are permanently locked as to prevent users from removing the content warning found on their page and/or vandalize the page with offensive content.

As the wiki continues to grow and rebuild, some pages may still be locked for none of the above due to past ownership. If such has occurred, and/or you would like to update content on a locked page, contact the Wiki Staff either on their available message boards or in the wiki's discussion boards.

Gallery/Images[]

  • All images added to the wiki should relate to Cookie Run and be educational in nature. Please do not upload memes/edits of Cookie Run characters, personal screenshots from your game that aren't intended to be displayed in an article. Such images will be removed.
    • The wiki itself is also not the place for fanart; please refrain from uploading any as it will be removed. Fanart is welcome to be posted in the wiki's discussion boards under the Fanart category.
  • Make sure you do not upload duplicate files. If you find a duplicate image or accidentally add one yourself, you can either delete the duplicate or contact a Moderator or Administrator to have it deleted.
  • Please upload only high quality, non-blurry images.
  • Uploaded images should be as close to official as possible, meaning that, ideally, they should be ones officially handed out by Devsisters or ones coming straight from the game's files.
  • Images related to leaks should not be added and will be removed. Please wait until the content related to the images is officially released before adding them.
    • Images found in the game's files that depict existing characters but have not been used in-game yet (or at least have not been officially recognized), such as certain story sprites, are generally to be considered leaks and will not be shown on the wiki until they are seen in-game or in other official capacities.

Templates[]

We have created several templates to make it easier to add items to pages. Templates can easily be added to a page by typing two open curly braces and then the name of the template (template names are often case-sensitive):

{{TemplateName...

A dialogue will appear and you can select which template you want to use. Once a template has been selected, common parameters will be available to enter via a simple user interface.

Templates[]

Use these templates to render certain images:

  • {{CookieIcon}} or {{ci}} (for Cookie head icons)
  • {{PetIcon}} or {{pi}} (for Pet icons)
  • {{TreasureImage}} or {{ti}} (for Treasure icons)
  • {{IconCommonCostume}}, {{IconEpicCostume}}, {{IconSuperEpicCostume}}, {{IconLegendaryCostume}}, and {{IconChampionCostume}} (for Costume rarity symbols)
  • {{IconTrialStarCandy}}, {{IconCrystal}}, {{IconEverburningDarkCrystal}}, etc. (for icons of various items, currencies, and more)

Message Boxes[]

Message boxes are the notices that appears above some pages to detail contextual information regarding the page. For a list of all message boxes, refer to Message Box Guide.

More To Come...[]

We are currently working on more templates to make it easy to add content, especially due to the amount of necessary cleanup this Wiki is currently going through. If you have any suggestions, please let us know in the forums.

More rules and guidelines may be added in the future. Thank you for reading and good luck editing!
