“ Quick! The Witch is away! Now's our chance! „ — GingerBrave
Escape from the Oven (Korean: 마녀의 오븐 탈출, manyoe obeun talchul) is a Breakout Episode released with the introduction of Season 2: Wicked Breakout Party of Cookie Run: OvenBreak. It is the very first Breakout Episode, bearing some similarities to Escape from the Oven from LINE Cookie Run, though it is mostly original content. The story is a reimagining of the original, as it starts with the Cookies escaping the Witch's Oven, and they go on to explore new areas, though locations after the Witch's Kitchen are new.
After the release of additional Breakout Episodes like City of the Millennial Tree and Black Sugar Pirate Ship, Escape from the Oven was called Episode 1, though this is no longer the case. This is the longest Episode, and the only one with multiple chapters. Before the Season 4 rework to Breakout Mode, it was even longer, where 20 Cookies were used per run instead of the usual 10. It is currently part of the Weekly Roundup 1 in the Breakout: Weekly Round Up.
Due to being the oldest and also the longest Breakout Episode, it had a long history of changes and reworks to its layout in order to fit with the game's ever-changing environment. These changes would often result in the removal / re-addition of stages that used to be in the Breakout Episode.
Stages[]
Chapter 1[]

Chapter 1 begins in the Oven, and the Cookies dash out of the Witch's house, through the nearby graveyard, and go underground to escape the Witch's domain. There are five stages (seven before the Breakout rework), and the first two have the same names and graphics as the first two stages from LINE's Escape from the Oven. Chapter 1 Mystic Jewels were called Skull Cemetery Jewels, and the special rewards were a Supreme Cookie Chest or Supreme Pet Egg.

1-1. The Witch's Oven[]The first stage, named Scorching Witch's Oven in earlier versions, uses the same assets as the Tutorial and the first stage of LINE Escape from the Oven. This stage is very short and simple, about 42 seconds long without any speed boosting abilities, and all dangerous obstacles are stationary. There is one large Potion at the end. In Season 4, The Witch's Oven wasn't shortened like most stages, but three mini Potions were removed. |
|
1-2. The Witch's Kitchen[]After escaping the Oven, the Cookies run through The Witch's Kitchen, previously named The Witch's Curious Kitchen. The background for this stage is the same as The Witch's Table in Land 1 of Trophy Race as well as The Witch's Kitchen from LINE. The obstacles from the LINE stage are the same, such as beakers containing |
|
1-3. The Witch's Backyard[]The Cookies make their way outside to the Witch's Backyard, the first stage original to OvenBreak. One of the obstacles, zombie arms that come up from the ground, were first seen at the Witch's Forest Road in LINE. Brooms and flying bats are additional obstacles, though none of the obstacles are very dangerous. Alphabet Jellies are added here, and the first Bonus Time is reached by a Bonus Time Jelly. There are two mini Potions in the Backyard. Originally two minutes long, this is the first of many stages to be condensed and rearranged, and it is now over 20 seconds shorter. |
|
1-4. Creepy Ghost Hideout[]The next stage is focused on Coins. There are so many that it is impossible to grab them all without a magnet or other collecting ability. There are moving floors here, and a lot of larger moving ghosts accompanied by bats, which are more aggressive than the bats in the Witch's Backyard. At the end, there is a big Potion and a Blast to jump through a hole in a large tree to enter the Rocky Mole Cave. Before Season 4, there were two more mini Potions. |
|
1-5. Damp Underground Channel[]The hideout leads to a sewer channel. Sewage water gushes out from above and below, lifting the floor and making some sections very narrow. Pipes stick out above and below as well. Strange green fish creatures are found here, and most of them have exposed bones, and others are decapitated. Near the beginning of the stage, there are Jellies arranged to look like a fish skeleton, and a nearby button can be pressed to make Yellow Bear Jellies appear as the fish's "body." There are two mini Potions and a variety of Jellies in this stage, including Giant Star Jellies and moving Rainbow Bear Jellies, and some sections have two short split paths with different Jellies on them. At the end of the stage, the Cookie enters a pipe and exits outdoors in the next Chapter. Before Season 4, there was no button or moving Bear Jellies, and only one Potion. |
Chapter 2[]

Chapter 2 starts in forest stages, and from the swamp, the Cookies enter a frozen cave and exit it at the dock, where they cross the sea. Chapter 2 has seven stages (six in the Breakout rework, nine in the original release), the most of any Chapter. Ice Sea Jewels could previously be found here, and the special rewards for collecting them were
Sea Fairy Cookie and
Ice Pearl Coral.

|
2-1. Sizzling Forest Party[]It is daytime in the pine forest, but the Cookies have not escaped danger, as the ground here is made of barbecue grills, and skewers holding meat and upset peppers need to be dodged. There are a lot of Bear Jellies here, both Yellow and Pink, and two Bonus Times, both reached by collecting Alphabet Jellies. There is a big Potion at the end of the stage. After Season 4, the Bonus Time areas are closer together, making it easy to see Space Bonus Time. Some rare Giant Pink Bear Jellies are added as well. |
|
2-2. Secret Farm of the Horned Gnomes[]There are lots of stationary mushroom and gnome obstacles in the farm, so a destruction ability can score well. This stage features sections with multiple levels with trapdoors, and sections with falling floors topped with a trail of Rainbow Bear Jellies. There are three small Potions, and the last one requires going off the trail and missing a few Basic Jellies. Before Season 4, there were no trapdoors, some airborne fly enemies, and only two Potions. |
|
2-3. Ribbit-Ribbit Mushroom Forest[]Ribbit-Ribbit Mushroom Forest is the second stage where Energy is drained more rapidly, but the Cookie is unlikely to faint here because this stage has an incredible 43 total Potions. Bear Jellies are arranged into hearts around Potions, and there are plenty of Blast Jellies, which help the Cookie grab Potions and dodge frogs. A Cookie with a Potion-activated ability like |
|
2-4. Sticky Snail Swamp[]The forest leads to a swamp, where Energy drain returns to normal. There are many slow moving obstacles here, and platforms on top of snails are used to cross wide pits. Rainbow Bear Jellies are boxed in by obstacles, and Coin Magic is used to reach them. Near the end of the stage is a small wooden plank structure leading to a drop before the entrance to an icy cave. Before Season 4, there were fewer pits and less verticality. |
|
2-5. Yeti's Frozen Cave[]The first ice stage fittingly has many Frozen Bear Jellies and Frozen Bear Jelly Parties. There are no potions, but there are a lot of Blast Jellies to dash past the falling icicles and other ice obstacles. A large furry yeti with facial hair can be seen in the background, and Jellies are arranged to look like the yeti. Before Season 4, there were fewer Blasts. |
|
2-6. Frozen Sea Cave[]The most noticeable feature in this stage is the darkness. There is a circle of light around the Cookie showing around half the screen, and smaller circles of light around some crystals in the environment. It is still possible to see in the darkness, just more difficult. Further in, there are multiple levels of falling floors, with ice and clam obstacles above or in front of the Cookie and limiting their movement. There are two small potions, and the second one is easy to miss in the dark near the top of the screen. Before Season 4, there were more sections without falling floors. |
|
2-7. Moonlit Night Sea[]Named Night Sea Under the Moonlight in early versions, this stage's peaceful atmosphere and background of the full moon over the ocean makes it resemble Nighttime Beach from LINE's Escape from the Oven. Water spurts lift floor sections and large shell obstacles, and flying fish from the previous stage return. The Jelly path is thicker, with multiple rows of Basic Jellies. There are some Bear Jelly Parties to convert them to Bear Jellies, and anything that can convert Basic Jellies to something more valuable, like with |
Chapter 3[]

The third Chapter starts with desert stages leading to ancient ruins and places of worship, and ends with an army failing to prevent the Cookies from entering their fortress. All four stages (six before the rework) are set in warm environments, and the Ancient God Mystic Jewels previously found here could give
Fire Spirit Cookie and the
Red Egg of Resurrection as special rewards.

|
3-1. Risky Wooden Bridge[]The shore after the ocean has a giant fossil seen behind the bridge, which is made of very thin platforms with frequent gaps and shaky planks. There are two big flocks of birds, one near the beginning and one near the end, around a trail of Rainbow Bears that guide the Cookie to fall into a Bonus Time Jelly for the fourth Bonus Time. Between the two flocks are long chains of Blast Jellies, and the stage ends with another blast leading to three Potions high in the air, two mini and one big. Before Season 4, there were more safe sections, some wall obstacles including walls with bird nests, no chain Blasts, an additional mini Potion, and only the second flock of birds. |
|
3-2. Blazing Sand Desert[]The fossil theme continues, with the skeleton of a massive anglerfish in the background. The camera is zoomed in more in the desert than the previous stages, and the runner needs to slide to dodge the hooves of giant llama- or alpaca-like creatures. Rainbow Bear Jellies move along with their feet, and more fly around later in the stage among spiky enemies. Some Rainbow Bear Jellies need to be grabbed during a Blast while the Pet collects Coins using a Magnet Jelly. There is a small Potion early in the stage and another later, directly before an "E", the last Alphabet Jelly needed to reach Bonus Time. There were no major changes to this stage in Season 4. |
|
3-3. Unknown Ancient Civilization[]This stage has a lot of Coins, with very few basic Jellies and a lone Rainbow Bear Jelly. There are Coin Parties to convert obstacles into more Coins, including one under the floor. Two mini Potions are under the floor as well, making a magnet ability critical. Some Coin Parties appear to be in boxes, but the Cookie can grab them without issue. Obstacles include walls and cacti, some wearing headdresses resembling an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. The tall wall obstacles have stylized Ancient Egyptian carvings on them, and each has two eyes resembling the wadjet, or the Eye of Horus. Some have extending spear traps hidden inside them. Before Season 4, there were more spear traps, as well as falling arrow and swinging ankh obstacles. There were no Potions, and more safe flat areas with only Coins on screen. |
|
3-4. Piñata Candy Kingdom[]The sunrise creates a colorful sky above the large fortress walls, making the background look similar to LINE Cookie Run's Cookie Kingdom Ruins as they appeared before the Edge of the World update. This stage and the stages after it are difficult enough to appear in Champions League. There are many small moving obstacles, including a frequent rain of arrows, and most solid ground has spikes extending from it. The Kingdom is defended by soldiers that resemble wrapped candies. Some charge with spears, some ride piñatas in the air, and others are stuck to piñatas with arrows through their heads. If the Cookie passes their defenses, they will reach a big door with a portcullis and enter the fortress, where the final Chapter takes place. Before Season 4, there were more sections focusing on the soldiers carrying spears and shields. |
Chapter 4[]

The Cookies have ran for multiple days now, but somehow they've ended up back in a stronghold owned by the Witch. The older names of the two stages imply it may be a previous home that the Witch has abandoned. There are only two stages here (added a third one later, but shortened to two stages in the Breakout rework), but they are long, and each has a fast tempo and challenging obstacles. Only three Dark Magic Mystic Jewels were needed to receive a reward, and
Dark Enchantress Cookie and her
Candy Cane Staff of Darkness were the special rewards.

|
4-1. Witch's Banquet Hall[]When first released, this stage was named Witch's Abandoned Banquet Hall, and was the final stage. The Cookie needs to jump near constantly to avoid fancy bottles, candles, goblets, falling forks, swooping monsters, and skulls that breathe purple flames. It is easy to fall into one of the many pits here if a jump onto a moving platform is misjudged. Landmarks include coins arranged into skulls, with a Giant Jelly in the eye of one, and after the mini Potion, a safe section with three levels, each with all three main colors of Bear Jelly. A skill like |

History and Deprecated Mechanics[]
- Main article: Breakout Mode#History and Deprecated Mechanics
As the oldest Breakout Episode, Escape from the Oven has been changed the most. When first released, the names of some stages were slightly different, and the last stage was 4-2, Witch's Banquet Hall. 4-3, Creepy Kitchen, was added on the First Anniversary update in October 2017. Mystery Boxes and Mini Cookie Jars were found while running. Mystery Boxes were themed after the Chapter they were found in, and could contain a Mystic Jewel, with Boxes of the same type giving the same type of Jewel. After enough Mystic Jewels of one type were collected, they could be exchanged for a random reward from a Reward List, in a fashion very similar to the Mystic Jewels in Champions League. Each Chapter had two special rewards, and for every Chapter after the first, these special rewards were a Treasure and a Legendary Cookie, the three Cookies currently available as a weekly reward.
The Season 4 update in July of 2019 brought about a revamp to Breakout Mode. Escape from the Oven was removed entirely, and replaced by the new Episode, Sands of Yogurca. Mini Cookie Jars and Mystery Boxes, and by extension Mystic Jewels, were removed and replaced with Light Spheres and the Breakout Shop. Breakout Quests were removed, and Cookies unlocked from Escape from the Oven had their unlock requirements changed.
Escape from the Oven returned on December 10th, 2019, replacing City of the Millennial Tree. The Season 4 changes to other Breakout episodes were applied here as well. The old version was considered too long,[1] so it was shortened, mostly by removing flat, safe areas with little action. The contents of most stages were rearranged, and some were remixed heavily to add newer mechanics for variety.
In the Yogurt Dunes Escapade update, Escape from the Oven returned, with the Legendary Cookie rewards being replaced by
Dark Enchantress Cookie and
Eternal Eye of Darkness, the ranking score increased, and the amount of Cookies used reduced from 12 to 10.
Somewhere around The Treasure of Legends update, Escape from the Oven returned again, with the reworks of The Isle of Awakening Dragons update, and also got some stages cut and reduced the Potions.
After the release of
Gim Cookie in the second half of the Yakgwa Village: Haunting Tales update, some stages that were removed from The Isle of Awakening Dragons update were brought back, and stages that were left in were removed. However, they're still playable via Breakout Random Challenge and Breakout Normal Mode.

Trivia[]
- The green pipe between Chapters 1 and 2 slightly resembles the Warp Pipes seen in the Super Mario series of video games. Pipes with an identical function also appear at the end of the Backstreets in Sands of Yogurca.
- The obstacles featured in Stage 2-7: Moonlit Night Sea are a reference to
Sea Fairy Cookie.
