Finding the Dragon is a story in Cookie Run: OvenBreak. The first chapter was released during the Guild Adventures update, with subsequent chapters being released during later updates.

The story began following Milk Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie as they set out to find Dark Choco Cookie, each for his own reason. However, beginning with Adventure #3, their goal shifts to finding the legendary dragons. The later chapters of this story intersect heavily with the later chapters of GingerBrave's Tale.

Cutscenes that were released before the Legends of the Dragon Isles update were available for rewatch for the duration of that update, while the fourth chapter was released. The first four chapters were added to the in-game story player when it was released during the Operation Timeguard update, and can be unlocked by raising affection for Milk Cookie, Purple Yam Cookie, Mango Cookie, and Mala Sauce Cookie. Further chapters were added to the story player upon their releases during the Tales of the Wishing Lotus update and The Age of Dragons update.

In-game Summary
Milk Cookie explains that he wants to find Dark Choco Cookie in order to thank him for saving his life a long time ago. Purple Yam Cookie, meanwhile, seeks a rematch with Dark Choco Cookie and aims to defeat him. Milk Cookie vows not to let Purple Yam Cookie hurt Dark Choco Cookie.

In-game Summary
Still looking for the Dragon's Valley, Purple Yam Cookie and Milk Cookie are held up when they encounter a hoard of giant Jellysaurs. The dinosaur and dragon loving Dino-Sour Cookie appears and helps the two out of their precarious situation. He's also able to show them the way to the Valley.

Purple Yam Cookie, Milk Cookie, and Dino-Sour Cookie arrive at the Mala Tribe's village in the Dragon's Valley, where future chieftain, Mala Sauce Cookie regales them with the history of the Mala Tribe. Recently, the Valley has been getting colder, and Mala Sauce Cookie believes that the solution lies in finding the legendary Red Dragon.

(Previously, in Cookie Run: OvenBreak) Purple Yam Cookie and Milk Cookie set off to find Dark Choco Cookie! The two Cookies joined forces to overcome the perils they encountered. Dino-Sour Cookie decided to tag along on their quest into the Dragon's Valley... Where will their path lead them? Deep within the Dragon's Valley was a village of fierce warriors: the Mala Tribe. Strengthened by generations of exposure to the blazing heat, invigorated by the red-hot flames, the Mala Tribe became the most spirited and spiciest of warriors. Purple Yam Cookie: How many times did we get LOST… You SAID you were an EXPERT in navigating the Dragon’s Valley! The Cookies encounter the Cookie form of the Red Dragon— Pitaya Dragon Cookie. Mala Sauce Cookie requests that the dragon help the Mala Tribe, but in order for the Dragon to agree, the Cookie's must prove their strength!

In-game Summary

In a combined effort, the Cookies face off against Pitaya Dragon Cookie, who relishes the opportunity to fight. The dragon recognizes the strength of the Cookie's and hears out Mala Sauce Cookie's request to help the Mala Tribe, gifting one of their scales to help warm the ground. However, they warn that this is only the start— the Valley will continue to deteriorate, and the unnatural collapse is also the reason behind their current Cookie form. They suggest that one of the other Dragon's might have a more permanent solution. Before anything else can be decided, a sudden earthquake splits the group.

After being separated from Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie, Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie find that they've been swept into the ocean. The two are spotted by Mango Cookie, who rescues them from becoming soggy with his canoe. Mango Cookie explains that less tourists have been visiting the Tropical Soda Islands due to rough currents. Mango Cookie peaks Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie's interests when he mentions the Islands connections to the legendary Dragons. They approach the Islands, but are sidetracked by dancing Ba-Dum Rays.

The destined leader of the Mala Tribe, Mala Sauce Cookie joined Purple Yam Cookie, Milk Cookie, and Dino-Sour Cookie's adventure! Part 2

In-game Summary

The source of the drums was Artichoke Cookie, a Cookie who's music draws the otherwise rare Ba-Dum Ray's out from the depths of the ocean. After listening to Artichoke Cookie's performance, Mango Cookie brings Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie to Pineapple Island, home to the Golden Dragon. In-game Summary

The Ananas Dragon appears, drawn by the disrespect Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie have shown Pineapple Island. They capture the two, and aslo Mango Cookie, aiming to imprison them in Pineapple Mountain as punishment. Mango Cookie is starstruck, impressing the Dragon— now in the form of a Cookie— with his knowledge of the legends of the Tropical Soda Islands, but this isn't enough to sway the Dragon into letting the Cookie's go. Just then, an earthquake causes a sudden cave-in and Pineapplemur is put in danger, and Mango Cookie rushes to save the pet.

Mango Cookie shares more of his knowledge of the legendary Dragons— there exist 5 Dragons; a Red Dragon with power over fire, a Golden Dragon with power over the earth, a Blue Dragon who grants wishes, a Violet Dragon who controls darkness, and an all knowing Ivory Dragon. Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie say goodbye to Mango Cookie and set off from Pineapple Island.

Adventure #5

Adventure #5 is a direct continuation of Adventure #3, following what happened to Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie after being separated from Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie.

Adventure #5 was released during the Tales of The Wishing Lotus update. The parts of the story were obtainable through running in the Fragrant Lotus Paradise Breakout Episode, and are now obtainable through use of Story Keys.

Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie find themselves stranded in the oceans waters after being separated from Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie. The two are found and rescued by Bellflower Cookie and Ginseng Cookie, who bring the two water-logged Cookies to Herbville to recover. As thanks for rescuing them, Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie assist Bellflower Cookie with gathering herbs.

Bellflower Cookie, Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie return to Ginseng Cookie's apothecary after gathering herbs. Bellflower Cookie explains that Cookies in Hortensia Town are falling ill, becoming lethargic. The two are making tonics in hopes to help them feel better. Mala Sauce Cookie connects this situation to her own tribe's recent troubles and seeks to help— and also hopes to possibly find Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie in Hortensia Town. Bellflower Cookie and Ginseng Cookie share that Hortensia Town is also having its Wish Festival soon, which involves the Blue Dragon. Intrigued by the possibility of having their wishes granted, Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie both participate in the Wish Festival, which unexpectedly seems to gain the Lotus Dragon's attention! The Cookies are called to visit the Dragon in the Lotus Palace.

Lotus Dragon Cookie reassures Mala Sauce Cookie that her wish will be granted in time and confirms for Purple Yam Cookie that they have not met Dark Choco Cookie. Mala Sauce Cookie, remembering what Pitaya Dragon Cookie said about how they took the form of a Cookie because of their weakening power, worries about the Lotus Dragon also sporting a Cookie form, but the Dragon denies that anything is amiss with the Lotus Paradise. When Hydrangea Cookie asks why Bellflower and Ginseng Cookie have not made wishes for themselves this festival, she scoffs at the idea that the two want to solve their problems without the help of wishes. Somewhat disheartened, the Cookies return to the apothecary in Herbville, but to the alarm of Bellflower Cookie and Ginseng Cookie, Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie seem to have contracted the same fatigue that has been plaguing Hortensia Town! The two normally vigorous Cookies are barely able to even stay awake long enough to finish their dinner. The two spend hours pouring over medical scrolls, when Bellflower recalls that something similar seemed to happen to her the last time she made a wish at the Wish Festival. The two make a plan to create medicine using lotus plants, planning to harvest them under the cover of darkness. Meanwhile, Mala Sauce and Purple Yam Cookie find themselves afflicted with strange dreams— dreams in which their wishes appear to have been granted. Mala Sauce Cookie celebrates with her tribe and Purple Yam Cookie stands victorious above Dark Choco Cookie. The two realize that something has felt wrong since their meeting with the Dragon and rush to return to the Palace, planning to storm the place and demand answers.

Part 4

In-game Summary

Rushing to the Lotus Palace, Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie become distracted by visions they see in the Lotus Lake. Meanwhile, Ginseng Cookie and Bellflower Cookie have been successful in gathering up lotuses to use for medicine. The two notice Purple Yam Cookie and Mala Sauce Cookie and immediately concerned with how close they seem to be to falling into the lake. They're even more startled when the roots of the lotus plants start to ensnare the two cookies! They work quickly to brew the antidote before the roots can pull the Cookies under the water. The bitter taste of the medicine snaps the two out of their trances, and both Mala Sauce Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie are able to break free from the roots. Tangled up in the remains of the shredded roots, they find the flowers that they used to make their wishes, withered and dried up. The Cookies realize that the roots must've been being controlled by Lotus Dragon Cookie. The younger Cookies of the group are ready to immediately storm the Lotus Palace to demand answers from the Dragon, but Ginseng Cookie advocates that they need a proper plan before acting. Just then, they notice more ripples in the water, and worrying that other Cookies have fallen into the lake, the Cookies go to investigate.

The Awakening

In-game Summary

The Lychee Caverns are collapsing, rocks falling and blocking the Cookie's way out. Rambutan Cookie tries to rally her tribescookies to clear the rocks away, but this plan fails when the eye-like Dragon Orbs begin to awaken. These "weird eyeballs" have the ability to completely petrify Cookies- turning them to stone! The Rambutan Tribe Cookies quickly fall victim to the eyes, leaving Rambutan Cookie to demand answers from Lychee Dragon Cookie, who has been enjoying the show unfolding before them. The dragon claims that they are not the one controlling the orbs. Another Cookie suddenly appears on the scene, Snake Fruit Cookie, talking about how their master, a dragon, is responsible for the eyes. They have come for a Cookie wielding a Staff, and after briefly arguing with Lychee Dragon Cookie about the Dragon not being able to find said cookie, Snake Fruit Cookie order's their Snake Soldiers to grab GingerBrave. Unimpressed by GingerBrave, Snake Fruit Cookie turns their attention to Zombie Cookie— specifically the Paradise Compass in their possession. Zombie Cookie is kidnapped by Snake Fruit Cookie. Around the Cookie's, the caverns continue to crumble, and the Cookies realize that the tremors are being caused by a huge Palace rising up from the depths of the Ocean. With no other routes available, the Cookie's are forced to jump onto the rising Longan Palace.

Dialogue

In their journey, GingerBrave and friends traveled from the Lotus Paradise, across the oceans and arrived in the Rambutan Village, a village under assault by horrific monsters! Together with Rambutan Cookie, chief of the Rambutan Tribe, they successfully drove the monsters off, but Cookies kept disappearing... Even GingerBrave was taken away! In the end, it came to light that everything had been orchestrated by the village's beloved Mangosteen Cookie, who turned out to be Lychee Dragon Cookie in disguise! After a tough fight, the group of friends managed to save both GingerBrave and the kidnapped tribescookies! But then large quakes started shaking the dragon's cave... GingerBright: Ah! Rocks are falling down on the way out! What do we do if the entrance is blocked?! Lychee Dragon Cookie: I told you! It's no use! Heehee... Just try escaping with your tiny legs! Ahahaha! Following the corridor where Snake Fruit Cookie took Zombie Cookie, the Cookies reach the Slithering Snake Chambers, where Zombie Cookie has been tied up. A plan to rescue Zombie Cookie is concocted, Purple Yam Cookie acts as bait, distracting the Snake Soldiers while the others climb the snake statues. Rambutan Cookie and Mala Sauce Cookie then jump from the statue, joining Purple Yam Cookie's fight. Seeing the Cookie's strength, Snake Fruit Cookie considers if they can incorporate the Cookies into their own plans. Everyone is ready to fight when Snake Fruit Cookie reveals themself, but are confused when the Cookie instead congratulates them, even freeing Zombie Cookie. Suspicious of Snake Fruit Cookie's actions, the Cookie explains that they were only following the orders of Longan Dragon Cookie, and don't actually mean the Cookies any harm. In fact, they would like to team up with them to go against the Ivory Dragon. They first explain that they wish to become a dragon before divulging the Longan Dragon's plans— the Longan Dragon believes that all Cookie's are weak and wishes to eliminate every crumb of them from the world. The greatest obstacle in defeating the Dragon lies with the dragon orbs, since the Cookie's have no way to defend against their ability to turn their dough to stone. A plan is made to gather up the other Dragon's— Pitaya Dragon Cookie from the Dragon's Valley, Ananas Dragon Cookie from the Tropical Soda Islands, and Lotus Dragon Cookie from the Lotus Paradise. The Cookie's split up and agree to meet back up at the Longan Palace.

In-game Summary

Mala Sauce Cookie, Purple Yam Cookie, and Rambutan Cookie travel to the Dragon's Valley. Mala Sauce Cookie is excited to show her tribe to Rambutan Cookie, but they find the village in flames, being attacked by Dragon Orbs. Finding Pitaya Dragon Cookie, they deliver the news that the Longan Dragon has awoken, and share what they know of the Dragon's plans. Pitaya Dragon Cookie agrees to fight the Ivory Dragon, not wanting the Cookie's that they have recognized as strong to be destroyed. Seeing Mala Sauce Cookie's positive relationship with the Red Dragon, Rambutan Cookie disparages about the state of her own relationship with Lychee Dragon Cookie. Milk Cookie and Dino-Sour Cookie attempt to travel to Pineapple Island, but are very nearly overcome by the out-of-control waves assaulting the place. They are found by Mango Cookie and explain what has happened since they last met, asking if the Cookie knows anything else about the Longan Dragon. Mango Cookie beings the two to the Mango Village, where the Mango Tribe Chieftain shares that the Ivory Dragon has the ability to see through time. Just then, the village is attacked by more Dragon Orbs! Ananas Dragon Cookie (in their dragon form) appears, and hearing the Longan Dragon's plans, also agrees to fight them, not wanting everything on their island to disappear. GingerBrave, GingerBright, Alchemist Cookie, Strawberry Cookie, Zombie Cookie and Snake Fruit Cookie travel to the Lotus Paradise, which is similarly in a state of ruin and chaos. They quickly meet Hydrangea Cookie, who leads them to where Lotus Dragon Cookie is hiding out in the Lotus Palace. The Dragon questions why exactly they should join the Cookie's cause. They Cookie's try to persuade the Dragon, and are partially successful— Lotus Dragon Cookie makes it clear that they can and will change their decision depending on whichever option is better for them.
