The Gem Exchange Center is Cookie Run: OvenBreak's main reward system as of the Trip to Paradise update. It relies on a currency system of Gold Gems and Legendary Gems, which can be found in every game mode.

A tutorial card for the Gem Exchange Center.

The Gem Exchange Center was created as part of a larger downwards stabilization movement, in order to keep the game stable as Devsisters releases new games. It replaces the Breakout Shop, Land's End Shop, Guild Shop, and other Event shops such as that of Team Fight/Team Fight: Boost!. Its currency, the Gold Gems and Legendary Gems, replace many of the rewards given across all game modes; for instance, all the rewards of any given Cookie Trials (except for the four in the tutorial, which are GingerBrave, Hero Cookie, Lemon Cookie, and Moonlight Cookie) have been replaced by them.

The Gem Exchange Center allows players to purchase any rewards they want at any given time, with its main focus being that players can run wherever they want instead of a specific game mode for specific rewards. The rewards available in the shop have limits on the quantity that can be purchased at any given time, to ensure that the amount of rewards before and after the gem Exchange Center was added are roughly the same. There is a limit to the amount of Gold and Legendary Gems that can be obtained at any given time; 50,000 Gold Gems, and 50 Legendary Gems. It is possible to obtain more Gold and Legendary Gems if this limit is exceeded, but any Gems that remain over the limit by midnight (GMT +9) are removed.

As of The Sweet Signals from Space update, a Gold Gem 1+1 Event exists that appears randomly and lasts for 6 hours; in it, the player must earn either 300, 500, or 1000 Gold Gems within the time limit, and by doing so they receive additional Gold Gems for free. If the player fails, 10,000 Coins are given instead, and GingerBrave appears over the Event icon with a frustrated expression until the event begins again.

A weekly Gold Gem Package is available, which costs $2.99 (USD) per purchase and provides 1,500 Gold Gems.

Gacha

The Vintage Costume Jar being pulled.

The Gem Exchange Shop has 4-5 different kinds of Gachas available at any given time, depending on the number and type of events currently going on;

• A Guild Run chest, which resets with every update to the Guild Run roster (i.e., every 2 weeks). Only the Cookies, Pets, and Treasures currently available in Guild Run can be pulled from the chest. Can be opened 20 times per refresh and costs 250 Gold Gems.
• A chest for the current "Title Event", which resets with every major update. Only the Cookies, Pets, and Treasures available to be played as in the Title Event can be pulled from this chest. Can be opened 10 times every 2 weeks, and costs 250 Gold Gems.
• A chest for the current "Special Events", if applicable. Not all Special Events bring with them a Gem Exchange Center chest, but when they do, only the combis available in said event can be pulled from it. Can be opened 10 times every 2 weeks, and costs 250 Gold Gems.
• The "Vintage Costume Jar". It has the appearance of a purple jar with handles, and contains limited time cosmetics from previous updates, updating with every major update. It costs 3 Legendary Gems to open, and does not provide compensation for previously-obtained rewards.
• Another "Vintage Costume Jar". While its appearance is yellow without handles, and costs 3,000 Gold Gems instead of 3 Legendary Gems, it does not produce different rewards, pull rates, or any compensation compared to the purple version. Both jars are colloquially referred to by the player base as "scam jars," due to the lack of compensation or non-inclusion for items already obtained.

Note that for the chests, whenever one is pulled, a total of 9 Cookie copies, 12 Pet copies, and 1 Treasure copy will appear.
