Twisted Maze Grove is the eighth Land of Cookie Run: OvenBreak, released on March 27, 2018 alongside the release of Cookie0116 head Whipped Cream Cookie.

The land is themed around a twisting maze ruled by Doughnut Ball Fairies that produce illusions that look like stages from other areas. The particular stages that the Doughnut Ball Fairies would create were changed periodically, so the Land remained interesting and challenging for players without another Land to reach. After the release of a Land 9, Happy Healthy Hamlet, the stages have not been changed again.

Additionally, there is a special rule in this Land and maps based on it in other modes. Highly valuable Mysterious Fairy Jellies appear randomly on the map. Mysterious Fairy Jellies have an assortment of fixed locations they may appear in, adding some variation to every run. They are immune to standard magnet abilities, but super magnets such as Cookie0052 head Lemon Cookie's can attract them.

Development[]

Four days before Twisted Maze Grove’s release, a Korean teaser image showing the land and Whipped Cream Cookie was revealed.

Stages[]

Because the Land changed its maps periodically, the type of stages changed. Though the theming of older stages is present, their layout is unique to Land 8, and typically harder than the original version. When the Cookie runs out of Energy and the run ends, the background and obstacles are revealed to be an illusion, and revert to the Twisted Maze Grove assets.

Current Stages[]

Two stages were always present, Glittering Syrup Pond and Gloomy Winded Grove, but their layout was altered when the Land was updated. After Land 9 was introduced, the current stages have stayed the same.

Glittering Syrup Pond

1. Glittering Syrup Pond[]

The first stage of the Land, regardless of layout. In the final version, it has regularly spaced jumps, with mostly stationary Doughnut Ball Fairy obstacles. Some are present on moving walls, pop from the floor, or charge left in midair.

2. Gloomy Winded Grove[]

The second stage, regardless of layout. In the final version, it is more zoomed out than the first stage. There are plenty of moving and tiered floors, and the Doughnut Ball Fairies are more aggressive, charging directly at the Cookie, dropping in piles from above, and rolling doughnuts at them.

3. Creepy Kitchen[]

The final stage of the first Breakout Episode, Escape from the Oven. There are buttons that turn off fires coming from tiny ovens, Giant Jellies to destroy obstacles, and the last four Alphabet Jellies to reach Bonus Time.

Land 8 cursed throne

4. Cursed Throne[]

The final stage of the second Breakout Episode, City of the Millennial Tree. There is no vertical scrolling, and a new boss appears to slam the floor and shoot laser beams.

5. Secret Winded Grove[]

A new, original stage added in the final update to Land 8. Pink fairies act as expanding obstacles, and the leader of the Doughnut Ball Fairies appears to command the small blue Fairies to charge at the Cookie before charging at them personally.
