Seaweed obtained from the roughest and deepest ocean waters was dried, powdered, and then added into the dough. Wine or rum is a must if you wish to get rid of the oceany odor. Don't use too much, or you'll be left with a bitter taste instead!
In his travels, Pirate Cookie has learned a miraculous ability to revive as a ghost after death. In his ghostly form, Pirate Cookie walks through obstacles, but alas, is unable to pick up any Energy Potions.

Pirate Cookie's Skill
Summons his pirate ship at certain intervals. The ship fire cannonballs to destroy obstacles and create Ghost Coins. After running out of Energy, Pirate Cookie will revive himself as a Ghost Pirate one time. As a Ghost Pirate, he can pass through all obstacles but cannot collect Energy Potions. Level Up for more points for Ghost Coins and more starting Energy in Ghost Pirate form. (Pirate Cookie can magnetically collect Pirate Coins that appear in the Black Sugar Pirate Ship.)

Pirate Cookie's past is explored in the Tower of Frozen Waves story. He used to be allies with Captain Ice Cookie when they were younger, making reference to potentially being called Navy Cookie. He also had his life saved by Sorbet Shark Cookie, who was repaid by being recruited to join his crew, though his interaction implies that Sorbet Shark Cookie caused the loss of his leg.
It should be noted that Navy Cookie is not necessarily confirmed to be his name in the past, as he makes a statement vaguely that more implies that it could have been rather than was.
Pirate Cookie's 2018 April Fools message was "Treasures are a lie."
Pirate Cookie's response to the 2nd Anniversary Cake was "A cake? MINE!"
