Find the Yakgwa Thief![]

Justice Is Served![]

In-game Summary
A wanted poster has gone up in the Yakgwa Village market! It appears the thief of the offerings for the king was none other than... Vagabond Cookie Vagabond Cookie?! Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie, a secret royal investigator, arrests Vagabond Cookie despite his protests that he was not guilty, locking him away in the Okchun office jail.
Dialogue
Yakgwa Village Secretary: Gather round! There is a new official notice from the capital!
Salty Yakgwa Villager: A notice? For what? Did something happen?
Savory Yakgwa Villager: I'm sure it's nothing. At most, I bet Yakgwa Pupper Yakgwa Pupper ran off with some Cookie's treats.
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: No, look! Our offerings to the King went missing! Didn't we prepare the highest quality yakgwa our village has to offer?!
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: Who would dare do something like this? What does it say about the thief?
Salty Yakgwa Villager: A loud voice singing a strange song...
Savory Yakgwa Villager: Large movements that seem like dancing...
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: Eats and steals any edible jellies...
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: There's only one Cookie in the village that fits this description... But it couldn't be...
Yakgwa Village Cookies: Vagabond Cookie?!
Vagabond Cookie: Huh? You called?
Vagabond Cookie: What're you all doing gathered around like this! Something fun going on?
Savory Yakgwa Villager: Vagabond Cookie! Perfect timing! Is all of this true?
Vagabond Cookie: What do you mean? Let me see... Hah! What kind of silly drawing is this?! I'm not one to judge, but if this Cookie's aiming to be an artist they might want to rethink that...
Vagabond Cookie: Wait. What? It's a wanted poster? For me? I haven't done anything!
Yugwa Cookie: Justice is served!
Vagabond Cookie: A royal inspector?! What are you doing here?
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: Huh? Isn't that the traveling ginseng digger that's been wandering around town recently?
Salty Yakgwa Villager: I thought he was suspicious because I didn't see him trying to sell ginseng at all! I never would have thought he was such an important Cookie!
Yugwa Cookie: I hereby declare Vagabond Cookie under arrest for the theft of offerings to the King! Take him to the jail at the government office!
Okchun Magistrate: So you're telling me Vagabond Cookie is the thief? The Cookie I know would never do something like that...
Yugwa Cookie: Your kindness is well known outside the village, Okchun Magistrate. As is how you consider all the villager Cookies as your family.
Yugwa Cookie: However, I must ask you to look closely at this wanted poster. This sketch and description are based on witness accounts. Your must admit there is not Cookie who sings and dances about as Vagabond Cookie does.
Yugwa Cookie: I have inspected each of the Cookies coming and going from this village, and no other Cookies fit the description. That means it must be a Cookie from this village.
Yugwa Cookie: Or are you implying... that you yourself have assisted in the misappropriation of offerings meant for the King?
Okchun Cookie: Your words are too harsh! The Magistrate would never do such a thing!
Okchun Magistrate: Calm down, Okchun Cookie. The royal investigator is simply jesting.
Okchun Magistrate: Is it true that the reports have a likeness to Vagabond Cookie. But don't you think we should investigate further since there is no clear evidence?
Yugwa Cookie: That is exactly why I suggest we keep him in jail and interrogate him. I believe everyone is aware how serious matters regarding offerings are taken.
Yugwa Cookie: I was sent here by the capital in order to assess the situation before punishments are dealt out for this crime.
Yugwa Cookie: Vagabond Cookie, can you truly attest to your own innocence?
Vagabond Cookie: Of course! I don't even know what kinds of yakgwa were in the offering!
Yugwa Cookie: What were you doing on the night the offering was stolen?
Vagabond Cookie: I drank lots of rice juice at the tavern and nodded off to sleep. When I woke up, everyone was gathered around gawking at something, so I went to check it out, but then you arrested me!
Yugwa Cookie: The theft occurred late last night. You must prove what happened after you left the tavern.
Vagabond Cookie: I just wandered around and slept on some deck. I didn't run into any other Cookies, though...
Yugwa Cookie: This means nothing if you have no witnesses. You remain the prime suspect for this theft.
Yugwa Cookie: Guards, take Vagabond Cookie to the jail! Immediately!
Vagabond Cookie: I'm telling you, it wasn't me! I'm innocent!

Dialogue
Vagabond Cookie: ACHOO!!!
Vagabond Cookie: Ugh, it's so cold in here... I may have visited this office tons of times, but I've never been here before...
Vagabond Cookie: Hellooooo? Anybody theeeere?
Vagabond Cookie: *Sigh* I guess I'll sing to keep my spirits up. Now this is a story all about how Yakgwa Village got flipped...
Vagabond Cookie: ... Singing isn't fun if there's nobody listening or joining in. What's going to happen to me now? What if they really think I'm the thief?
???: -nd Cookie. Vagabond Cookie? Can you hear me?
Vagabond Cookie: Okchun Cookie? That's really you, right? I'm not just hearing things? Maybe I'm losing it, even if it's not you, just hearing your voice is making me less lonely.
Okchun Cookie: It's unlike you to say such downhearted things. I assume this means you can hear me.
Vagabond Cookie: Okchun Cookie! It's really you! But... where are you?
Rebel Cookie: We're right outside your jail cell. Don't be so glum, I'm here too.
Vagabond Cookie: Rebel Cookie?! I'm glad to hear your voice, but I haven't even seen you around the village recently! Why're you here?
Rebel Cookie: Okchun Cookie sent me a message letting me know what happened. I flew right back when I heard they were accusing you of stealing the offerings!
Vagabond Cookie: Thank you... All of this for me...
Okchun Cookie: We requested the guard leave his post temporarily, so we could speak with you in private. I'll be quick, since we don't have much time.
Rebel Cookie: We believe you! We know you're not the thief!
Vagabond Cookie: I really didn't do it! I want to clear my name, but locked up in here, I can't do anything... Nobody will listen. If I could just get out I could find the real thief, or at least clear up any misunderstandings.
Okchun Cookie: That's exactly why we're here. We'll pass you a candle through the window. The stocks are made of rice taffy, so it should melt from the heat of the fire.
Vagabond Cookie: Wow, that's so smart! I should've expected as much from you!
Vagabond Cookie: But... will you two be okay if I escape? You'll be the first to be suspected...
Rebel Cookie: Don't worry. Who do you think I am? Tricking officials is my specialty. I'll make a straw doll that looks just like you. I'll bet you Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie won't know the difference even looking it in the face!
Vagabond Cookie: Okay! I'll get to melting these stocks, then!
Vagabond Cookie: Ugh... It's kinda scary being so close to fire. What if I burn, too?
Rebel Cookie: Put up with it for a bit. You can't just go around town with stocks hanging off your neck!
Vagabond Cookie: You're right... Ugh... Just a little... more...!
Vagabond Cookie: It finally melted off!
Vagabond Cookie: Oh, wait... how do I get out of here, though? I'm not going to fit through that window...
Rebel Cookie: You think too little of me! I've broken into officials' houses in the capital. This is nothing!
Okchun Cookie: That... was a bit too quick. It's fortunate for us, but I should suggest the office reinforces their locks in the future.
Vagabond Cookie: Now that I'm out, I'm going to go find the real thief!
Okchun Cookie: You should remain hidden for now. We will begin the search for the thief.
Vagabond Cookie: What? Why?! This is my problem, so I should solve it!
Rebel Cookie: Your face is plastered all around the village! You really think you can get around without being brought right back here?
Vagabond Cookie: Oh, yeah... You're right...
Okchun Cookie: It is best that you hide away from Cookie eyes for the time being. Explain what has happened to Gim Cookie Gim Cookie and stay at the shrine.
Okchun Cookie: We will contact you when things have been sorted. You may join us then.
Vagabond Cookie: I feel bad leaving you two to all the hard work...
Rebel Cookie: Do you take us to be Cookies that would leave a friend high and dry? You know what, when everything's been figured out, you can write a song with us as the star Cookies to make it up to us.
Vagabond Cookie: Of course! I would've done that anyway!
Rebel Cookie: You'll have to pass through the market to get to the shrine, so wear this beard as a disguise. Don't do anything to draw attention to yourself!
Vagabond Cookie: Just a beard? Don't you think this is too obvious?
Rebel Cookie: It's worked just fine for me! Don't worry about it.
Okchun Cookie: The guard will be back soon. Get going before they come back. We'll clear your name, Vagabond Cookie.
Vagabond Cookie: Thank you, you two! I'll definitely prove my innocence!
Vagabond Cookie: Don't see anyone? I'll just be passing through, then...
Yugwa Cookie: Escaped, just like I expected. He must have had Okchun Cookie's help. I won't capture him immediately though; I have an informant out in the village, after all.
Yugwa Cookie: He'll find himself back here before he knows it. *Smirk*

Dialogue
Vagabond Cookie: I got to wander around at night, but Cookies are starting to come into the market now that the shops have started opening. I have to be careful...
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: I heard there's a yeot peddler at the entrance to the village! Let's go!
Vagabond Cookie: It's Sweet Yakgwa Villager Cookie and Chewy Yakgwa Villager Cookie! They won't recognize me, will they...?!
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: Yeot?! I haven't had yeot in forever! Let's go!
Vagabond Cookie: Huh... they just walked right past me! Rebel Cookie's disguise works well after all!
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: If Vagabond Cookie were here he'd sing along to the beat of the yeot scissors...
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: We haven't heard anything about him since he got taken to the government office. I'm worried about him...
Vagabond Cookie: Aww, they're worried about me... I'd better work even harder to uncover the true thief!
Yeot Cookie: Yeot, get your yeot! I'm not here forever! Don't want to miss out on this sticky treat!
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: What kind of yeot do you have?
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: Why, I've got any yeot you can imagine! Traditional pumpkin yeot, sweet potato yeot, corn yeot... even fruit yeot! For a first timer trying my yeot, I'd have to recommend the standard rice yeot.
Vagabond Cookie: It all sounds so good!
Vagabond Cookie: Ugh... I shouldn't be chewing on yeot when I'm on the run, though...
Yeot Cookie: You know, since I like you, I'm going to give you a free sample! Here you go!
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: WOW! This is so good! Hey, come and try this yeot! I'll treat you if you don't have Coins on you. Everyone's got to try this!
Vagabond Cookie: Is it really that good...?
Yeot Cookie: You there! Cookie with a bread! Come and take a bite. Don't think I didn't see you looking on! You're a big Cookie, so I'll give you a big piece!
Vagabond Cookie: Huh? Me?
Yeot Cookie: If you're not in the mood for a sticky treat right now you can take it with you for whatever journey you're on! Come on over!
Vagabond Cookie: (Oh, I know! I can take some yeot to share with Gim Cookie Gim Cookie. He's going through the trouble of hiding me, it's the least I could do to show my thanks!)
Vagabond Cookie: Can I have a small piece, then?
Yeot Cookie: GOT YOU! Young master, I've got your thief right here!!!
Vagabond Cookie: Hey, let go of me! If I'd known the yeot peddler was in with the royal inspector I wouldn't have even come close...!
Yeot Cookie: Aww, I don't like it when you put it like that. We've always been on the same side! Isn't that right?
Yugwa Cookie: He is right. Yeot Cookie always helps me solve my cases.
Yugwa Cookie: Vagabond Cookie, it would be in your best interest to explain what caused you to escape from jail if you are not truly guilty of the theft.
Vagabond Cookie: You were already so sure I was the thief, I couldn't just sit and let my dough mold in prison doing nothing! I want to prove my innocence!
Yugwa Cookie: It sounds like you're saying that laws are not enforced properly here. It's only natural to detain suspects until adequate evidence is found, whether for their innocence or for their guilt.
Yugwa Cookie: Your trial will determine which applies to you. If you're so eager to see whether you're determined innocent or not, I'm more than willing to accompany you to the capital immediately.
Okchun Cookie: Wait, I cannot allow this!
Vagabond Cookie: Okchun Cookie, Rebel Cookie!
Yugwa Cookie: I was aware of Okchun Cookie's connection with Vagabond Cookie, but I never would have suspected this from you, Rebel Cookie. I thought you were against corruption and injustice.
Rebel Cookie: In all the places I've visited, no single Cookie has ever been more thoughtful and righteous than Vagabond Cookie. I know he would never do something like stealing the village's offerings!
Yugwa Cookie: Are you sure your judgement is not being clouded by your history with Vagabond Cookie? It's not uncommon that wrongdoers are also great at hiding their true nature.
Okchun Cookie: If you are so suspicious, I suggest you ask the Cookies of the village about his character. I'll even begin a petition right away.
Rebel Cookie: We'll vouch for his innocence. If Vagabond Cookie is found guilty of the theft, we'll take responsibility, too!
Yugwa Cookie: ... If you are so certain, I will allow it.
Vagabond Cookie: So you're accepting that I'm not guilty?!
Yugwa Cookie: If you are all so certain that Vagabond Cookie is not guilty, go out there and find the real culprit. Yeot Cookie and I will be looking for evidence that he is guilty.
Yugwa Cookie: However, Vagabond Cookie will be accompanying us. We must assure he does not run away while we're busy with our investigation.
Vagabond Cookie: Huh?! I don't want to go with you two though!
Yugwa Cookie: Make no mistake, you are still the prime suspect for a very serious crime. Did you expect us to let you walk around free? If you don't want to accompany us, you could always go back to the jail.
Okchun Cookie: It sounds like a plan. We'll make sore we find the real thief!

Witness Questioning (1)[]

In-game Summary
Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie Yeot Cookie visit and question Kumiho Cookie Kumiho Cookie and Moon Rabbit Cookie Moon Rabbit Cookie, two witnesses of the previous theft. They learn that the singing was closer to a shrill scream, and that the culprit was jumping and dancing around the market at night. Yugwa Cookie uses this information to continue his investigation.
Dialogue
Vagabond Cookie: Hmph. What are you even expecting to get done taking me around the village like this? You told me to keep the disguise on so the other villagers wouldn't help me, didn't you?!
Yugwa Cookie: Let's set this straight. We're not "taking you around," we are monitoring you. The disguise is so the innocent villagers will not get a shock seeing the prime suspect of a crime walking around free.
Vagabond Cookie: At least let me talk to the villagers! We can work together to catch the real thief!
Vagabond Cookie: Just think about it, Yugwa Cookie. Everyone knows you came from the capital, you stick out like sour dough! Do you really think they'd be willing to talk openly to such an unfamiliar face?
Yugwa Cookie: No need to worry. I am a master of hiding my presence among Cookies.
Vagabond Cookie: Any Cookie with eyecing can tell your clothes are made of honeysilk! Not to mention you look like you know your way around a sword...
Yugwa Cookie: Are you sure about that?
Vagabond Cookie: Huh? Wow, how did you become so... ordinary?! You didn't even change that much... Do all secret royal inspectors learn how to do this?!
Yeot Cookie: The young master's really something, isn't he?! I still remember how the whole village was filled with excitement when he passed his examination with flying colors. It was quite the sight to see!
Yugwa Cookie: Hmph. There you go again, acting like you raised me.
Yeot Cookie: I might as well have with how fond I am of you, young master! Listen up, Vagabond Cookie, because I'll tell you a tale worth one of your fancy songs!
Yeot Cookie: Congrats on getting the best score in the exam, young master! What a great day for the Yugwa family!
Yugwa Cookie: I couldn't have done it without your support, Yeot Cookie.
Yeot Cookie: You're just flattering me now!
Yeot Cookie: What do you wish to do with your new standing, young master? With your skill in both intellectual and physical matters, I'm sure you'll succeed anywhere. You'll be one of the most influential Cookies in the King's court!
Yugwa Cookie: You're getting ahead of yourself, Yeot Cookie. On top of that... I'm sure you already know what I wish to do.
Yeot Cookie: What do you mean by that?!
Yugwa Cookie: You're going to disappoint me at this rate. And I thought you knew me so well... Let me give you a little hint.
Yugwa Cookie: What do you say to a walk around the village? Then, when we return to the house, we can put on our inspector hats and play the games we used to play together.
Yeot Cookie: You mean pretending to be secret royal inspectors?! Of course! ... Oh! Do you mean you wish to become a secret royal inspector?! It really suits you!
Yeot Cookie: I'm sure you'd step forward to punish any unjust Cookies, regardless of their status or ranks, and help the innocent! I'll stick by your side, no matter what you do.
Yeot Cookie: And from that moment on, we were inseparable like two pieces of yeot!
Yugwa Cookie: This is the place. It's time to investigate the Cookes who claim to have seen the thief themselves.
Yugwa Cookie: Kumiho Cookie, you reported to have heard singing at night, correct?
Kumiho Cookie: I did, indeed. But I don't feel too inclined to tell you more about it.
Yugwa Cookie: It would be in your best interest to tell us what you saw... before we start counting your tails, Kumiho Cookie.
Kumiho Cookie: W-what tails?! I'm an average Cookie, I swear!
Yeot Cookie: Hmm, I'm not too sure about that! Let me take a looksie... Aha, there they are! One tail, two tails, three tails...
Kumiho Cookie: Hmph! Okay, okay! I'll talk!
Kumiho Cookie: I was walking around the market at night when I heard a strange song... Though I'm not sure if it should be called a song. It was closer to a scream.
Kumiho Cookie: I'm not sure if it was Vagabond Cookie's singing, though. I was too far away to see anything, but I know what I heard... It was a very shrill voice.

Yeot Cookie: Moon Rabbit Cookie, can you tell us more about what we talked about before? I'll give you a piece of yeot!
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Yeoooot? Was about wice cakes?
Yeot Cookie: Aw, don't be so quick to write it off! Look, this yeot stretches out just like rice cakes!
Moon Rabbit Cookie: But I wike wice cakes... Om nom nom...
Yugwa Cookie: You seem to be enjoying the yeot either way... Anyway. You claim to have witnessed a Cookie dancing around the village.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Omnomnomnomnom...
Yugwa Cookie: What...?
Vagabond Cookie: I think the yeot is so chewy that we can't understand her...
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Omnom! Nomnomnom!
Yugwa Cookie: ... It is against decorum to display anger to young Cookies. I'll wait for your response.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Wow, it was weawwy yummy! Just wike wice cakes! Gimme moa!
Yugwa Cookie: You finished your first piece. Please answer our questions.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Aww, okay... I saw sweeping, and I woke up to wook at the moon! But I heawd a sound... and saw thomething bouncing wike a dance! All down the woad!
Yugwa Cookie: Did you see the Cookie's face?
Moon Rabbit Cookie: No... It was dawk and scawwy...
Yugwa Cookie: Hmm... I believe we've gathered enough information for today. Vagabond Cookie, are there any other Cookies in this village who sing and dance around at night other than yourself?
Vagabond Cookie: Well, no, but... I swear it wasn't me! *Sigh* I wonder if Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie Rebel Cookie have found anything...

Witness Questioning (2)[]

In-game Summary
Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie Rebel Cookie also visit Kumiho Cookie Kumiho Cookie and Moon Rabbit Cookie Moon Rabbit Cookie. They use their familiarity with the witnesses to win their favor, learning that the culprit was likely not a Cookie, ran around on four legs, and had a long neck. Concerned whatever it is may be possessed by a spirit, they go to visit Gim Cookie Gim Cookie
Dialogue
Okchun Cookie: ... so that's why we're searching for the real thief.
Okchun Magistrate: I see. It sounds like you two have had a busy day. I've heard a great deal about Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie. He was apparently granted a royal tiger badge for his role in subduing a tiger that leaped into the palace.
Okchun Magistrate: Based on what I've heard he's extremely skilled in capturing corrupt officials... But he's suddenly arrested an innocent villager? And here of all places?
Okchun Cookie: Regardless, we will do what we can to find the true thief and prove Vagabond Cookie Vagabond Cookie's innocence.
Okchun Magistrate: As you will. There must have been some misunderstanding... If you are unable to find the thief, I will do what I can to handle the matter, so focus on doing what you can to assist Vagabond Cookie.
Rebel Cookie: Leave it to us! Let's go talk to the Cookies who were witnesses first!
Rebel Cookie: Kumiho Cookie, it's been a while!
Kumiho Cookie: Well now, look who came rolling back into the village. I never thought I'd see you here again.
Rebel Cookie: I came back after hearing what happened to Vagabond Cookie. You've heard everything, right?
Kumiho Cookie: Of course, I have. The rumours have spread throughout the village, after all. Why, even the dessert animals in the nearby mountains must know by now.
Kumiho Cookie: Whoever, or whatever it was had quite the interesting voice. It was much closer to a scream than any sort of song. I told Yugwa Cookie just as much.
Okchun Cookie: I'm so sure it was not Vagabond Cookie. He only screams when he's encountered a ghost or been bitten by Yakgwa Pupper Yakgwa Pupper!
Rebel Cookie: Which Cookie would you say sounds the most similar to the voice you heard that night? We won't just immediately try to blame that Cookie without any evidence, so please just tell us.
Kumiho Cookie: Hmm... I'm not so sure I can tell you any more empty-handed.
Okchun Cookie: Here you are, a bowl of freshly made rice cake soup. Would you like to have some?
Kumiho Cookie: Quite tasty. I like it.
Rebel Cookie: What do you say? Can you tell us more now?
Kumiho Cookie: This is for your ears only, dears... I think it wasn't a Cookie.
Okchun Cookie: Are you saying it was a ghost...?
Rebel Cookie: This is more than enough of a lead! Thanks, Kumiho Cookie! Okchun Cookie, let's go talk to Gim Cookie later.
Kumiho Cookie: Aww, leaving so fast, dear?
Rebel Cookie: I'm staying at the Rice Cracker Inn! Stop by some time!
Kumiho Cookie: I will if I happen to find the time.

Rebel Cookie: Moon Rabbit Cookie, we heard you're the one who reported seeing a dancing Cookie. Could you tell us about that?
Moon Rabbit Cookie: I alweady told dis stowy. I tawked so much I'm vewy hungwy now...
Okchun Cookie: It seems as if Yugwa Cookie already spoke with her. Moon Rabbit Cookie, have some of this rice cake soup. I made it myself.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Wow! Wice cake soup!!! Omnomnom! Wice cakes are thooo much moa yummy than yeot!
Rebel Cookie: Tell us anything you know or remember about that night! That's all we need.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Hmm... I woke up to wook at the moon, but I saw thomething bouncing! Wike how Vagabond Cookie goes dancing!
Rebel Cookie: This sounds like it incriminates Vagabond Cookie. That's not good...
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Wice cakes are all gone... Can I have moa...?
Okchun Cookie: Come visit the office later and we will give you more. For now, could you tell us in more detail about that night? Anything is good.
Moon Rabbit Cookie: Uhmm... It was jumping awound all over! Thometimes on fouw wegs! And it had a woooong neck!
Okchun Cookie: It hopped on four legs and had a long neck...?
Gim Cookie: I heard about how they're framing Vagabond Cookie as the thief. I saw the wanted posters in the market when I went to buy gim to make gim talismans.
Gim Cookie: I didn't sense any negative spirits... do I have to go? It sounds like so much work...
Rebel Cookie: Kumiho Cookie said she does not think it was a Cookie. Moon Rabbit Cookie also told us it looked like it hopped on four legs.
Gim Cookie: What...? Is there a Cookie possessed in the village? That's a big problem, regardless of who it is. I guess I'll go look into it...
Gim Cookie: This could be a big issue if it's not just an ordinary Cookie.
Okchun Cookie: I agree completely. We think Yugwa Cookie will visit you to ask you questions as well.
Okchun Cookie: There's something we'd like you to tell him...

Witness Questioning (3)[]

In-game Summary
Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie Yeot Cookie visit Gim Cookie Gim Cookie's shrine. Gim Cookie follows Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie's request to pass on a meaningful offer, but Yugwa Cookie decides to investigate more for himself.

The following day, several Cookies report various foods being stolen from their houses. Yugwa Cookie decides to take the offer passed on by Gim Cookie, preparing to visit the Okchun Office.

Dialogue
Yugwa Cookie: Where are we...? We heard Cookies visit the shrine here, but I have no idea where we're going.
Yugwa Cookie: Vagabond Cookie, you are familiar with this area, are you not? Show us the way.
Vagabond Cookie: Hmph. And why should I help you? Maybe I'll think about it if you let me go!
Yugwa Cookie: I suppose we'll keep wandering, then.
Yeot Cookie: It kinda feels like we're going round and round in circles! This brings back memories...
Yugwa Cookie: How long do we have to keep walking? We were assigned to punish Cookies herbs for much more than their value, but all I'm seeing here are flowers...
Yeot Cookie: Are you doing alright, young master?! Would you like me to carry you on my back?!
Yugwa Cookie: Riding on your pack would make me the laughingstock of any passing yugwa pups.
Yugwa Cookie: If feels like we keep passing the same scenery. That flower there looks familiar. It's almost as if we're caught in an illusion...
???: Hello there!
Yugwa Cookie: ACK! It's a moving, talking flower! Take the force of my Hopae—
Hydrangea Cookie: Are you doing alright out here?
Yugwa Cookie: *Sigh* It was just a giant bunch of hydrangeas... We're simple ginseng diggers. We ended up out here in our search for mountain ginseng...
Hydrangea Cookie: Mountain ginseng? There're no mountains near this village. You must have quite some trouble finding your way.
Yugwa Cookie: Haha... You could say that...
Yugwa Cookie: (I can't say we were searching this area on purpose, it would blow our cover...)
Hydrangea Cookie: You should hear that way, towards Herbville.
Yeot Cookie: Are you sure we should leave this area, young master?
Yugwa Cookie: Well, we have not found any herbs out here. Let's follow this path for now.
Yugwa Cookie: You're right. It is quite similar to that time.
Yeot Cookie: Maybe we're set for a surprise, then! Just gotta keep going!
Yakgwa Pupper: Arf! ARF ARF ARF!!!
Yeot Cookie: AAAAH!!!
Yeot Cookie: Huh...? Oh, we're at the shrine!
Gim Cookie: This shrine is protected by a spell that keeps unfamiliar Cookies away. I planned to watch and see how long you wandered, but I felt like I might fall asleep, so I let you in.
Gim Cookie: Also Yakgwa Pupper, I told you that you can't chase away ghosts here. Stop it.
Yakgwa Pupper: *Wimper...*
Yugwa Cookie: So you're Gim Cookie. I'm sure you've already heard the news, so I will get straight to the point. Have the spirits told you anything about the thief in Yakgwa Village?
Gim Cookie: I haven't heard anything from the spirits. I have had Cookies come complaining about hearing strange noises from outside their windows, though.
Vagabond Cookie: It wasn't me! Everyone says they like my singing!
Yugwa Cookie: Have you heard any suspicious rumours from Cookies coming from the village? I feel like you of all Cookies would have heard the most of what's going on.
Gim Cookie: Hmm... I wouldn't call this a rumor, but there're things going on that even the spirits are spooked by.
Yugwa Cookie: What is that?
Gim Cookie: Something has been singing and dancing around the market at night. This being has been so active the spirits are avoiding the area.
Yeot Cookie: How evil must this... "being" be for even the spirits to be running away!
Gim Cookie: I'm exhausted from dealing with Cookies' concerns at day and the spirits' concerns at night. You're the royal inspector here, can't you do something...?
Gim Cookie: You already know Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie Rebel Cookie came here, right...? Wouldn't it be easier if you worked together to find the thief?
Gim Cookie: They say they already have found the truth... They said you should go to the office if you want to know more.
Gim Cookie: (I said what Okchun Cookie asked me to say... That should do it, right...?)
Yugwa Cookie: While that is a tempting offer, it is not time for that yet.
Yugwa Cookie: So far, we've gathered that this thief appears at night, that they dance and sing a strange sone, and that this had occurred over multiple nights.
Yugwa Cookie: It is possible this may not be an isolated crime—taking the offerings may not have been their main goal. Yeot Cookie, we should contact the capital. Tell them this case may take longer than expected.
Yeot Cookie: You've got it! I'll find a reliable messenger right away!
Yugwa Cookie: We must consider all the circumstances along with the information we've gathered. Let's return to the inn. Vagabond Cookie, you're coming with us.
Savory Yakgwa Villager: Help, help! Somebody stole the dried bean paste from my house! We left it hanging from the eaves of the house to ferment, but it's gone!
Salty Yakgwa Villager: Somebody took our kimchi! We made it all in advance to last us through the winter. Now what will we do...?
Yugwa Cookie: Vagabond Cookie was with us this entire time... Does this mean he wasn't the thief all along?
Yeot Cookie: I had an eye on him all night long! That Cookie didn't take a single step outside the door. He can't have been responsible for the thefts last night!
Vagabond Cookie: I told you! It wasn't me! Now let me go!
Yeot Cookie: You seemed comfortable enough last night. It took ages to wake you up! And you ate the most of all three of us last night, too.
Vagabond Cookie: The floor was warm and cozy... and you let me eat as many jellies as I wanted. What was I supposed to do?!
Yugwa Cookie: I apologize for arresting you out of nowhere, Vagabond Cookie. But I cannot release you until we have found the true thief. We have to prove these thefts are related to the one you were accused of.
Vagabond Cookie: So I'm stuck with you two?!
Yugwa Cookie: Yeot Cookie, prepare what we need to head out. We must visit the government office.

In-game Summary
Yugwa Cookie Yugwa Cookie realizes that Vagabond Cookie Vagabond Cookie could not be the thief. He and Yeot Cookie Yeot Cookie decide to work together with Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie and Rebel Cookie Rebel Cookie in a joint investigation to find the real culprit using the clues they've found. In the process, Yeot Cookie shares memories of the past when Yugwa Cookie was still preparing to become a royal inspector.

The Cookies decide to set traps to lure out the thief.

Dialogue
Okchun Cookie: You're here. We've been waiting for you.
Yugwa Cookie: I'm sure you've all heard there were more thefts. It's proven likely that Vagabond Cookie was not the original thief. I would first like to offer my apologies for accusing you.
Okchun Cookie: I will accept your sincere apology. Now we must find the real thief.
Vagabond Cookie: Finally I can get rid of this dumb beard!
Vagabond Cookie: Ugh, it feels like my face hasn't breathed in days.
Yugwa Cookie: We cannot be sure of anything yet, because we have yet to find the true thief. Who knows what else might happen.
Yugwa Cookie: Let us discuss the information we have gathered in our separate investigations. We've uncovered that the thief sings, or rather screams, an incomprehensible song while hopping around doing a strange dance.
Yeot Cookie: Here, let me give you an example! *Clears throat*
Yeot Cookie: SCREEEEEE!!! ACK, ACK!
Vagabond Cookie: Those are some moves you've got, Yeot Cookie! Not so sure about the singing, though... Maybe you should practice something other than your yeot song! Hahaha!
Yeot Cookie: I sang off-key because of our witness accounts, crumbs for brains! Anyway, continue the report, young master!
Yugwa Cookie: We met with two witnesses. Both stated that the thief appeared to late at night when no Cookie was around.
Yugwa Cookie: While this may seem like a given, seeing as they are a thief, it's not uncommon for thefts to occur in broad daylight when Cookies let their guards down. So this detail is one we can't ignore.
Yeot Cookie: What amazing deductions! As expected from such a great royal inspector! Here, let me give an example. Back when we were pretending to be ginseng diggers, there was a rice stall right next to where we sold our ginseng.
Yeot Cookie: One day, some Cookie snatched up a sack of rice right where the shop owner looked away for a moment! They were so smooth, I could've sworn they were another shopkeeper or even a paying customer!
Yeot Cookie: I only realized what had happened when the shop owner shouted after them! The thief was so sure of themselves that even after the owner's cry, Cookies were confused as to who the thief was.
Yeot Cookie: Good thing we were there! We ran right out and SNATCHED that thief by the wrist! I can feel my dough pounding just thinking about that rush. Wasn't it fun, young master?
Rebel Cookie: You two really work well together. Have you been partners for a long time?
Vagabond Cookie: Oh crumbs, don't get him started. I've already heard these stories over and over again...
Yeot Cookie: Haha, well, if you ask me...!
Yugwa Cookie: Got you! You're the culprit, Yeot Cookie!
Yeot Cookie: Oh young master, you're absolutely right!
Yugwa Cookie: You can't call me young master now!
Yeot Cookie: Oh, right! Uh, you nasty inspector! I'm not the thief! Hmph. Catch me if you can! I'll pick every last rice grain off your sweetly puffed yugwa head—
Yeot Cookie: I can't do this, young master! How could I ever say such mean things to you... Can't I just be the inspector's assistant?!
Yugwa Cookie: We agreed to stay in character when playing secret inspector! This will help me to be more neutral when I become a real secret inspector some day!
Yeot Cookie: I'm sure you'll be a natural at whatever you choose to do, young master!
Yugwa Cookie: Thank you, but like you always say, you never know what may happen. I must practice as much as possible before the examination!
Yugwa Cookie: Let's start over. You, there! You're the thief!!!
Yugwa Cookie: What did you think of today, Yeot Cookie?
Yeot Cookie: You were amazing! I thought we were done for when our plan was found out and the Magistrate made a run for it!
Yeot Cookie: Then you whipped out your Hopae and went on the chase riding the Yugwa Tiger! I'll never forget how you snatched up that crooked official!
Yugwa Cookie: I'm proud we completed our first mission successfully.
Yeot Cookie: I'd never expect less from you, young master. I'll prepare a celebration right away!
Yugwa Cookie: Haha, I don't need a celebration. It's not like this will be the last successful mission.
Yugwa Cookie: You put in a lot of work gathering tips and rumours as a yeot peddler, too. You should go rest.
Yeot Cookie: Aww, come on! Life is short, we should enjoy our achievements, no matter how big or small. Plus, today was so thrilling I feel like I won't be able to sleep!
Yugwa Cookie: ... To be honest, I've already received my next assignment from the King. It's far, so we must wake up early to set off.
Yeot Cookie: Well, why didn't ya say so! I'm always ready, just say the word. Look, my pack is already all set to go!
Yugwa Cookie: Reliable as always. I'll meet you in front of the gates before sunrise.
Yeot Cookie: You've got it! You know, I'm worried if you'll be able to wake up on time. I'll make sure to wake you up if you need it!
Yugwa Cookie: Following that initial mission, we have worked our way through several secret assignments... But that doesn't mean we don't experience surprises. Much like the current case.
Okchun Cookie: What a wonderful story. As for our tips... the thief appears to hop around on all-fours and has a long neck. One Cookie suggested it may not be a Cookie at all.
Yugwa Cookie: But that's...! *Sigh* No wonder Gim Cookie Gim Cookie said you may have the real truth behind this.
Yeot Cookie: A strange "song," stealing edible foods... and hopping and dancing around on four legs. It really appears like our thief may not be a Cooke after all!
Yugwa Cookie: We'd best apply that knowledge to the rest of our investigation. Although I've never chased after something that is not a Cookie... I have never let the unfamiliar stop me at this job. After all, a malicious Cookie is much worse than any ghost or otherly being.
Yugwa Cookie: If we cannot immediately deduce our thief, we must be smart and create a trap to lure them out.
Yugwa Cookie: I may have a plan. We'll need the help of the Okchun Magistrate, though.
Okchun Cookie: The Magistrate is more than willing to help. Please follow me.

Savory Yakgwa Villager: ... Even if I can't win, I hope he's able to clear his name soon.
Okchun Magistrate: We've placed posters advertising the singing contest all around the village. Is there anything else you need?
Yugwa Cookie: You've done more than enough. All we must do now is hide backstage and listen for our thief. It would be much appreciated is a place could be prepared for us to do so in secret.

Savory Yakgwa Villager: Maybe we're just hearing things! It's all that singing... But we can't stop now! I'll be singing this next song as a duet with Sweet Yakgwa Villager Cookie!

Yugwa Cookie: Every Cookie in the village must have sung at this point, but neither witness has recognized any of the voices...
Yeot Cookie: Maybe the thief had a cold, so their voice sounded different! It may be a bit far-fetched, though. All the villager Cookies look as healthy as could be.
Yugwa Cookie: And we still have to pick a winner... So we're really giving out a prize for this, even though it was just a cover for our investigation?
Okchun Cookie: Yes, we are. The government office must follow through with their promises to maintain the trust we have earned from the villager Cookies. The Okchun Magistrate has ensured this remains so.
Yugwa Cookie: Very wise of the Magistrate. He is worthy of his position.
Yeot Cookie: If I'd know this would happen, I would've gone out to sing, too! I could've split the yakgwa set with you, young master!
Rebel Cookie: There weren't really any performances worth picking... After all of my travels I am more than aware Vagabond Cookie has an amazing voice, but something is different about experiencing it like this.
Vagabond Cookie: I think I've realized how good my singing is, too! Maybe I should start a vocal training class for Cookies...

Yugwa Cookie: You'll still know how to do it better than we do.
Yeot Cookie: Oh my, young master... I'm worried Vagabond Cookie's rash nature is starting to rub off on you!
Vagabond Cookie: My what?! I haven't done anything!
Gim Cookie: Just from the looks of it, I don't think Vagabond Cookie is possessed by any kind of spirit.
Gim Cookie: I mean, we can perform the ritual without disturbing the negative spirits, so it is easier... But what kind of excuse do you plan on making for why we're doing it?
Okchun Cookie: We will hold a ritual to welcome the mountain spirits and pray for the peace of the village. Gim Cookie, please try to buy as must time as possible.

The Shrine Tree: While it is not ideal for me as a sacred Shrine Tree... I will allow it, if it is for the village.
Rebel Cookie: Thank you! Up I go, then!
Yugwa Cookie: Well, isn't he a quick climber. I can tell he's scaled more than a few walls...
The Shrine Tree: I can feel that in my branches... I must be getting old. To believe the day has come one climbing Cookie can make me creak and ache...(sic)

Rebel Cookie: I can't see much from up here, it's really dark... Let me get a better look.
Rebel Cookie: It's quiet, too quiet... Nobody is by the inn, or in the alley by the rice shop. No sign of anyone in front of the office...
Rebel Cookie: Wait, that's that?!
Rebel Cookie: I spotted them! Someone's picking up the yugwa off the ground! They have... they have four legs! And a long neck, just like the witness statements!
???: AAAAAACK!!!
Yeot Cookie: What was that?! That sounded like a scream!
Vagabond Cookie: Who thought that sounded anything like me?! I'm about to get offended! Ugh, just you wait. Once we get the thief I'm going to sing for whoever started that!
Rebel Cookie: They're coming up the mountain with all the yugwa they collected! I'm going to get down from the tree!

Yugwa Cookie: What...?!
Yakgwa Deer: AAAAAAAAAACK!!!
Yugwa Cookie: This... is our thief?
Vagabond Cookie: Why would a yakgwa deer steal the royal offerings?!
Peddler Pupper: WOOF! GRR WOOF!
Yakgwa Pupper: Grr... ARF ARF!
Yeot Cookie: Puppers...! Don't run off that way...!
Yakgwa Deer: NOOOOAAAAAAAAACK!!!
Yugwa Cookie: The yakgwa deer is running wild! Make sure it doesn't get away!
Rebel Cookie: It's jumping so hight I can't grab it!
Gim Cookie: Take my Crispy Gim Talisman!
Gim Cookie: The talisman fell right off... So it's not possessed after all!
Vagabond Cookie: The yakgwa deer is charging! Yakgwa Pupper and Peddler Pupper are in its path!
Vagabond Cookie: Huh? It brushed right past them... if it's not attacking, then why is it charging?
Yakgwa Fawn: AAAAAACK! HUNGRY AAAAAACK!!!
Yakgwa Deer: AAAAACK! STAY AWAAYYYCCCK!!!
Vagabond Cookie: Oh, it's trying to protect its fawn... it's so cute. Can I give it some of our leftover snacks...?
Okchun Cookie: It looks like the father deer was trying to find food for its fawn.
Yugwa Cookie: Upon closer inspection, it appears there are yakgwa crumbs scattered all around the area. Not to mention the kimchi and bean paste left as in(sic)... I guess the fawn didn't like those.
Yeot Cookie: Young fawns do like sweet things, after all! Same with young Cookies! Here, fawny fawny... Have some yeot!
Yakgwa Fawn: AAAAACK IT'S GOOOOOD!!!
Yugwa Cookie: I believe I have figured out what happened. However, the law of the land must be followed. With Okchun Cookie, a representative of the Okchun Magistrate as witness, I shall hold a brief trial regarding this case.
Yugwa Cookie: Yakgwa deer, you are hereby under arrest for the theft of royal offerings. Before your formal arrest, you are given a chance to explain your motives.
Yakgwa Deer: MY FAWN WAS HUNGRYYY AAACK! IT'S COLD, THERE'S NO GRASS ACCCKKK!!! MY FAWN NEEDS FOOD AAACKK!!!
Yakgwa Deer: THERE WAS A TASTY LOOKING YAKGWA SET IN THE VILLAGE AACKKKK!!!
Okchun Cookie: That's right. We had prepared a special yakgwa set as our royal offering to the King. It was meant to be picked up and taken to the capital that day.
Okchun Cookie: That would have been the only food out at the hour... I guess that's why you took it.
Yakgwa Deer: I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS IMPORTANT AAACKK!!!
Yugwa Cookie: Regardless of the circumstances, the theft of royal offerings is a serious crime, and you have directly admitted to committing the thefts!
Vagabond Cookie: Oh, come on! Be go easy on them(sic), they needed food! I'm sure the villager Cookies will come together to make a new yakgwa set for the royal offerings.
Okchun Cookie: As a representative of the Okchun Magistrate, I, too, would like to formally request you reduce their sentences for these crimes.
Yeot Cookie: Heh, you're all such worrywarts! Just sit back and wait, the young master's not done yet.
Yugwa Cookie: However... The yakgwa deer are also dear subjects. Ignoring the plight of a hungry young fawn would go against the King's will—wishing happiness upon all the subjects of this land.
Yugwa Cookie: I shall report the circumstances to the King, and file a petition that sweet snacks be scattered through the bare mountains and fields so that no dessert animals goes hungry.
Yeot Cookie: See, I told you so!
Yakgwa Deer: THANK YOUUAAACKKK!
Yugwa Cookie: The warmth of spring should come equally to all, Cookie and dessert animal alike.
Yeot Cookie: As expected! Just as always, young master! I'll arrange a messenger to the capital straight away!
Savory Yakgwa Villager: Spring at last! The government office is holding a celebration for the changing of seasons, right?
Chewy Yakgwa Villager: I wonder what kind of tasty snacks there will be!
Salty Yakgwa Villager: I was worried we wouldn't be able to hear Vagabond Cookie's singing at this year's celebration. I'm so glad everything worked out in the end!
Sweet Yakgwa Villager: Yeah! It's not a celebration without Vagabond Cookie!
Okchun Cookie: I'm glad to see everyone is looking forward to the celebration.
Rebel Cookie: I'm looking forward to it, too!
Vagabond Cookie: Rebel Cookie! Last I heard you were in a far away village. Glad to see you back!
Rebel Cookie: Okchun Cookie invited me, I'd never miss it! It's surprising to see Yugwa Cookie and Yeot Cookie sticking around for so long, though.
Yugwa Cookie: We also came to enjoy the celebration. We'll be leaving after today.
Okchun Cookie: It is a long trip to the capital. I suggested they stick around until the weather warmed up a bit.
Vagabond Cookie: Oh, I wonder if the yakgwa deer family will be coming. I ran into them when I met Gim Cookie on the mountain recently! They seemed interested when I mentioned the celebration.
Gim Cookie: The little fawn has grown a lot now that it's eating well.
Yeot Cookie: It's all thanks to the petition the young master sent to the King! The mountains and the fields are filled with the smell of sweet, sweet sugar!
Okchun Cookie: Vagabond Cookie, we'd like to request a song, if you'd like?
Vagabond Cookie: Flowers atop every mountain and along every spring,
the warm breeze alerts of the new season it brings♪

Gim Cookie: Though I enjoyed my long-deserved break... I get the feeling the Yakgwa Village will soon be engulfed in another debacle.
The Shrine Tree: You've been out and about, I see. Working hard or hardly working?
Gim Cookie: Just a brief outing to the market. I needed to stock up on gim for a talisman. I saw a strange wanted poster and decided to stop by the shrine on my way back.
The Shrine Tree: Why would a poster make you visit the shrine...? I have felt no signs of premonitions of the Doughstomper's seal being broken.
Gim Cookie: Yes... The seal remains there, just the way it was. Yawn... It may have been a short trip, but I am exhausted.
Gim Cookie: As for the poster... It stated that Vagabond Cookie Vagabond Cookie stole the offerings meant for the King...
Gim Cookie: I just don't understand. The entire village is willing to share Yakgwa Jellies with him for a song or two. He isn't the type to risk everything for a quick crime spree...
The Shrine Tree: Ah, so you naturally assumed the Doughstomper somehow had a hand in this? But think again... Are there not Cookies who can impersonate others?
Gim Cookie: Yes. And let's not forget, the Egg Goblins are also known for their shapeshifting. Hm, I feel there is no point in meddling with this affair. And yet...
The Shrine Tree: So you are just going to ignore the fact that a Cookie may potentially be in danger?
Gim Cookie: *Sigh* Never a dull moment...
Gim Cookie: Fine. I shall investigate! But there is not even a crumb of evidence that this is the work of monsters. I'll look into this matter a bit further and discuss it with Okchun Cookie Okchun Cookie only if it's necessary.
The Shrine Tree: A fine plan. If there is anything I can do, you know where to find me...

Yugwa Cookie: A secret assignment is a road paved with nothing but poisonous thorns. There will be treacherous mountains and fierce rivers to cross, with nary a chance for a proper night's sleep. How can I possibly ask you to endure such hardships?
Yeot Cookie: Pardon me, master, but stop uttering such nonsense! Where the needle goes, the thread must follow! How could I not be by your side, sire?

An "Enchanted" Night[]

In-game Summary
Dialogue
Yeot Cookie: Oh dear! I knew we needed to hurry...! Night has fallen upon the mountains, and we're still stuck here! Where will we sleep?!
Yugwa Cookie: There was no choice. I had to thoroughly inspect the road where the offerings were being transported. As a royal investigator, I cannot afford to merely glance over things.
Yeot Cookie: I suppose you're right. But... what's that? Is that a light?
Yeot Cookie: Oh! It's a lone house in the middle of nowhere! Erm... hello! Is anyone here? We're weary travellers, just passing through the area! May we stay here for the night, please?
???: ...
Yugwa Cookie: Something is amiss here... And Yeot Cookie.... Just because this place looks empty doesn't mean we can enter without permission.
Yeot Cookie: There's no harm in asking! Otherwise, we'll have to sleep on the cold, hard ground. I might be okay with it, but you, being the light sleeper you are, definitely can't. And besides... you'll catch cold!
Yugwa Tiger: Grrr...
Yugwa Cookie: Relax, good friend. Easy does it. Even so, Yeot Cookie, we cannot enter this place without seeking the owner first.
Yeot Cookie: OH! See here, young master! The door has opened! It looks like they're letting us inside!
Yeot Cookie: And something smells scrumptious! Look! There's a warm meal waiting for us on the table!
Yugwa Cookie: I see. And yet, we have yet to encounter anyone here.
Yeot Cookie: The door has been opened, and a meal has been prepared! It's obvious that, whoever lives here, wants us to rest here for the night. To decline such an offer is bad manners!
Yugwa Cookie: Everything about this place is suspicious. Why don't you. erm... You go first...
Kumiho Cookie: Teehee! These two are rather funny. Maybe I'll up the ante and play some more tricks on them!
Gim Cookie: ... Stop! There is no need to play such foul tricks upon them.
Kumiho Cookie: Hmph! They're eating my food! And they'll be sleeping in a house! They owe me at least a few pranks.
Gim Cookie: It's not a house, it's a shrine. And... ugh, that's not food, that's just mud and leaves. You may have enchanted them into thinking so, but that tiger looks ready to pounce.
Kumiho Cookie: Naggy, naggy, nag, nag, nag... Fine, I'll leave them alone.
Yugwa Cookie: Huh? What...?! Yeot Cookie, stop eating! This is mud!!!
Yeot Cookie: Ehhh?! Master, you're about to chomp down on a twig! What's happening? It's like... were we... possessed by ghosts?

Winter Night Chatter[]

Dialogue
Okchun Magistrate: I'm glad this case was resolved well. We must make sure no jelly animals go hungry this winter.
Okchun Cookie: Yes, with the feast we held, neither Cookies nor animals should go hungry now.
Okchun Magistrate: Indeed, indeed. Sitting here with you, watching the snow fall... it's quite pleasant.
Okchun Cookie: Do you remember? We used to gather on the warm floor and roast chestnuts and sweet potatoes on the brazier.
Okchun Magistrate: How nostalgic...
Okchun Cookie: ... Yes, I miss those times...
Vagabond Cookie: Hello, Okchun Cookie! Oh, Magistrate, you're here too!
Okchun Magistrate: Ah, Vagabond Cookie! It must have been tough coming through the snow.
Vagabond Cookie: Walking in the snow and singing was actually delightful! Staying cooped up inside all winter isn't good for your health, anyway!
Okchun Cookie: Actually, I called you here to discuss what activities Cookies might enjoy together in the winter.
Okchun Magistrate: Is that so? Oh, I see Yakgwa Pupper came along too. Would you like some roasted sweet potato?
Vagabond Cookie: Ah, no! No more sweet potatoes for this silly one!
Okchun Cookie: What? But why? Look how eargerly it's wagging its tail.
Vagabond Cookie: Don't let the cuteness fool you. Yakgwa Pupper got such a bad tummy ache from eating too many sweet potatoes this winter!
Yakgwa Pupper: *Whimper...*
Vagabond Cookie: Instead of sweet potatoes, I'll sing you a fun song! Woo-hoo! Try moving around to the beat. You won't even think about stomachaches!
Okchun Cookie: Then I will prepare some pine nuts and jujubes instead of sweet potatoes. A small portion should be fine, right? After all, nights are long in the winter.

Dialogue
Yugwa Cookie: So it was the father yakgwa deer looking for food for his hungry yakgwa fawn...!!!
Okchun Cookie: As I suspected. Vagabond Cookie, you have been cleared of false accusations.
Yeot Cookie: Ahem, to think you uncovered the truth behind this case... Our young master is truly the finest among inspectors!
Vagabond Cookie: The accusation was unfair, but everyone helped me through it! Feels like a decade-old weight has been lifted off my shoulders!
Vagabond Cookie: Now, shall I sing a song for all the frozen jelly animals! Oh, what joy! Woo-hoo!
Yugwa Cookie: Oof, that's cold!
Yeot Cookie: Oh my, young master! Are you alright?
Yeot Cookie: Vagabond Cookie's singing was so loud, all the snow piled on the branches came tumbling down!
Yugwa Cookie: ... It's fine... I suppose Vagabond Cookie's voice was extra powerful from all that pent-up emotion... Though I'm fine, still...
Yugwa Cookie: Take this! If you've got old feelings to release, let them fly with this snowball!
Vagabond Cookie: Hey, who throws snow at someone while they're singing!!! HAHA! Alright! If that's how you want to play, I'm making an even bigger one!

Yugwa Cookie: I suppose a little play like this isn't so bad. Yeot Cookie, let's make a run for it!
Yeot Cookie: Yes, of course! Wherever you go, young master, I'll follow!

Dialogue
Yeot Cookie: Young master! I've finished preparing for departure. But you see, I heard this rumor...
Yugwa Cookie: Yeot Cookie, calm yourself. I've received a secret order from the King.
Yeot Cookie: A s—secret order? Oh my.... I was hoping we could return to the capital and rest our legs, but where are we headed now...?
Yugwa Cookie: Well... we must go to Rice Yeot Village.
Yeot Cookie: Rice Yeot Village? Don't tell me... The same Rice Yeot Village where new magistrates keep running away?
Yugwa Cookie: Ah, you already know about it? As expected, no Cookie can match your knowledge with rumors.
Yeot Cookie: Ahem! Of course! I just happened to hear it from some merchants who came to Yakgwa Village to Rice Yeot Village.
Yeot Cookie: Would you believe... Every new magistrate either runs away or faints after seeing apparitions?
Yugwa Cookie: That's why the village is in such unrest. Before we leave, we should seek Gim Cookie Gim Cookie's advice.
Yeot Cookie: Yes! While we are it, ask for some of his powerful talismans! So... are we setting off again?
Yugwa Cookie: Yes, an inspector must go wherever they're needed! Whether it's Cookies or spirits, we must help ease their grudges!
Yugwa Cookie: And when we return, we'll finally head back to the capital for some rest! Now then, Yugwa Tiger, let's head to Rice Yeot Village!
Yeot Cookie: Ah, young master! Wait a moment. Let me adjust my pack first. Wait for meeeee!!!
