Way of the Cookie is an event in Cookie Run: OvenBreak. It replaced Cookie Rumble as the event to coincide with the Grand Champions League during the Ninja Season. It began on May 27th, 2020 to coincide with the release of General Jujube Cookie.

Way of the Cookie is divided into two modes, Normal Mode and Hard Mode.
Both modes have the player facing off against various opponents to earn emblems. Emblems can be earned based on achieving a target score, and in Hard Mode, can also be earned by completing sub-goals (using certain Cookies, Pets, and Treasures). Earning certain amounts of emblems gives rewards. Some opponents are labeled “HARD!”, meaning that target scores are higher than normal.
Normal Mode has three chapters, relating to the story of the Martial Arts Tournament. The first three opponents in each chapter are always Combi-Locked, meaning the player must use a certain Cookie and Pet.
Hard Mode is similar to traditional Cookie Rumble, where the player can earn three emblems to get more rewards. Hard Mode is separated into three schools instead of three chapters. The 10th opponent in each Hard Mode school is the Master, a real-world player who has achieved the highest score thus far. Other players can try and beat the Master’s high score in order to become the next Master.
Plot[]
General Jujube Cookie and Master Prune discuss the upcoming Martial Arts tournament. General Jujube Cookie wonders if Master Prune is still as strong as he remembers, and challenges him to a duel. General Jujube Cookie compliments Master Prune on his skills. Both will be serving as judges during the tourney. General Jujube Cookie recalls a battle he had during the tourney when he was younger. Master Prune states that members of the Four Families are all attending the tournament, and General Jujube Cookie states that it is a shame the Leek Clan isn’t attending. Only the Spring Onion and Scallion Clams remained. General Jujube Cookie once encountered the heir to the Leek Clan, and offers to aid him in restoring the clan. The heir believes that General Jujube Cookie sullied the name of the Leek Clan, and grows furious. The heir loses the battle, and General Jujube wonders when he will return.
The Martial Arts tournament begins. Plum Cookie is honored to compete, while Peach Cookie grows bored and sleepy. The two cookies won’t face each other until the semifinals, but are determined to beat the competition to reach the semifinals together. Both reach the semifinals, and Peach Cookie wants the loser to buy dumplings. Plum Cookie shrugs, but says he won’t hold back. Peach Cookie wins the match, and states that she will win the tournament. Plum Cookie warns her that another finalist, called Bamboo Hat, is unmatched in skill. Bamboo Hat wields the Leek Blade, and Plum Cookie wonders if he’s part of the Leek Clan, who had all disappeared. The final between Peach Cookie and Bamboo Hat begins.
Leek Cookie remembers his loss against General Jujube Cookie and wants revenge. He realized that General Jujube Cookie is a judge at the tournament and decides that he can win the tournament to challenge him. Bamboo Hat defeats Peach Cookie at the finals. At the awards ceremony, Bamboo Hat reveals himself to be Leek Cookie, heir to the Leek Clan, challenging General Jujube Cookie to a duel. Panda Honor Guards attempt to stop Leek Cookie, to no avail. General Jujube Cookie had heard a contestant was using a Leek Blade, but never imagined it would be Leek Cookie. Leek Cookie states that he will explain why he is angry after the duel. General Jujube Cookie ends up agreeing to duel.
Without even breaking a sweat, General Jujube Cookie defeats Leek Cookie. Suddenly, General Jujube Cookie is attacked with a Leek Slash, cutting off a part of his beard. Leek Cookie wants to attack more, and states his reason of anger: General Jujube Cookie sullying the name of the Leek Clan. General Jujube Cookie states that this was a misunderstanding and that he admired the Leek Clan, as they dominated the realm with their swordsmanship when he was younger. He had wanted to help Leek Cookie rebuild his clan and deems him a worthy opponent for successfully cutting part of his beard. Leek Cookie still deems the offer for help as interference, and instead vows to continue his training.
